Unique Opportunities are good for business. We need a coach who will capitalize on the common opportunities and that's evaluating overlooked talent in Georgia, Florida, and Texas. Look at Jatorian Hansford's film. If you tell me with a straight face that kid is a low three star you're a liar.

His film looks fine. His film was available to a lot of teams. He’s more likely to be the next Terez Hall than the next Sean Weatherspoon.

You're wrong. That's what I'm talking about.
Identification and development makes or breaks coaches at schools like Mizzou. Always has. Always will.
Not "stars".
At what point did I mention stars?
One of the more rich in state group of kids and we basically went 0 for 10. That's no big deal in your world...
I'm usually pretty quiet here but you pump so much sunshine you should be slinging beer at a gay bar.

Cmon Dude. Sean Weatherspoon? Overlooked two star from Texas? That was the person you chose to use?
Posted on 12/19/17 at 6:29 pm to Mizsioux
Yes. That’s exactly my point. For every Weatherspoon there’s two Abbingtons, a Mason and a Ross, three Beisels and two Lees and probably 50 other players.
Posted on 12/19/17 at 6:35 pm to the808bass
Dude what are you talking about Mason and Ross were the only two stars in that whole list the rest were 4's or high threes? If the point you were trying to make is for every two star legend there is 5 two star nobodies then that was bad.

You’re not a bad dude. You’re pissed at me for some reason that I don’t care to sort out.
My argument is that most players perform to their ratings. The busts and the overachievers we remember more (in varying degrees depending upon the argument we are trying to support).

I liked you for a long time ( I was lurker) I thought you made a lot of sense and I still agree with all your basketball takes, but the point I turned on you in football is it just seemed like you crapped over people celebrating wins and I totally get it, we literally don't have one impressive win this season, but the turn around to a certain degree is impressive, but I think any college fan should be allowed to be excited when their team wins because if not? What's the point of it all? So I just got jaded with you from a football perspective in that regard.

I'm not even sure what that means. Rivals own definition for a 3 star is a solid D1 contributor with NFL potential. That's intentionally vague with a huge range of possibilities. Why? Because they are even admitting that it's virtually impossible to accurately rank the vast majority of prospects.
What do you think of this kid? Yeah, he'll probably play. May even make the NFL one day. Wow, thanks for nailing it down.

Does it bother you in the slightest we can't even recruit our own state being the only p5 program in said state?
You're laughable at times.

Well, that’s unfortunate. I think all of our wins should be celebrated. The turnaround was impressive, even against a weaker back half of the schedule. I think you may have misread some of my stuff. But I can definitely come across as an arse, so some of that’s probably my fault.

Not if Mizzou gets players from out of state. I don’t really care where the players come from. We won’t really know how good this class is for a couple of seasons.

LOL That's about the only way to spin going 0-10 with the in state talent this year.
Why worry about top talent leaving the state, when we can throw in another 2 star flip from Tulane..... Laughable

I care about wins. I don't really care where players come from.
Missing on Perkins, Goodrich, Adeoye and Babb sucks for sure. They are elite. Trout is very good too but DT isn't a huge position of need. The rest I'm not really concerned with. They are replaceable imo.

Why does 0 for 10 keep getting thrown around itt? That's not accurate.
Parker is signing tomorrow. Everyone believe Thompson will be a Tiger. Craddieth never even got an official offer.
So it's more like 2 for 9. Not saying that's good, but let's at least be accurate.

I've said this before, bass was a good poster before Odom was hired.
He just REALLY dislikes Odom and it creates a huge bias in his posts.

I have 2 reservations about Odom, and I believe they're the same ones that keep Bass from enthusiastic fanboyisems: Recruiting, and off season preparation.
We should have an answer for the second with the coming season. And if the coming season shows good preparation, then we can hope that recruiting will follow.
It was the apparent lack of off season prep, and the resulting 1st half of the season, that doomed this years recruiting. We shall see. But understand that Reservation does not equal Condemnation.
