The only recruits I get excited about are Dline and Oline. Everyone else, basically based off the system you run. Just need to find fits for it. Sucks we missed out on some good D line talent this year.

You would think DLine would recruit itself at Mizzou these days.
I dont really know how much effort Odom really put into them, then again if he had his team ready to play the first 5 games of the season maybe he would have gotten more interest from them.

Explain the path to this please.
I'm not sure why you are so adverse to answering direct questions.
You are just so ignorant about the recruiting landscape of CFB it's almost hard to believe. Consistent top 20 classes??? Lol, frick man.
You do realize the #20 class last year had 2 5* and 5 4* right? I mean you have at least some knowledge of these things before you speak right?
Knowing that the vast majority of that would need to come out of state...how do you convince these kids to come to a school with average history, fans that don't show up for games and shite facilities? How? Give me this amazing sales pitch and I'll make sure BO gets it.

Come to Mizzou because we are going to get rid of BO and hire Bill Belichick from the Patriots and let him coach until he decides to retire.
Do you still not believe kids also come to schools, because of the coach?
Go ahead and say this is unrealistic.

There were not 9 players elite prospects in Missouri this year.
Babb, Trout, Thompson, Perkins, Parker and Goodrich are difference makers.
Bell probably is also, but he switched sports so late after Mizzou had already taken a full class at his position.

Mizzou recruit Daniel Parker won defensive player of the year.Daniel Carson, Ayodele Adeoye, and Brown aren't jokes either.

The 19th had 5 4*s. No 5*s
The 23rd had 5 4*s. One from CoMo.

I will frame this a little different. The baseline that Mizzou should recruit and win at most years is around the 50th percentile.
Sure I would like Mizzou to be much better than that, but that the acceptable level.
Schools that I think will pretty much always out recruit Mizzou are.
ACC: FSU, Miami, Clemson and Virginia Tech
B1G: OSU, PSU, Michigan, Nebraska. Maryland has Under Armor money so could jump up there as well.
Big 12: Texas and Oklahoma
PAC 12: UCLA, USC, Washington and Oregon.
SEC: Alabama, Auburn, LSU, TA&M, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee.

I can buy that.
Consistent classes around 25-35 will get us “good enough” (some of those in a four year span have to be closer to 25).
Four years at 40 will not.

How many kids did Florida lose during their coaching change?
Go look it up. You can then answer your own question.
If someone offers you a Lexus and a Toyota at the same price is it going to matter how good the salesman is?
I'm not saying it's no factor, it's just not a big one. Top ranked kids were going to Alabama and Ohio St before Saban and Meyer. They'll still go there after those guys leave.
Incremental changes? Sure. Dynamic shifts? Of course not.

6 4*s

The number is actually 8, with at least 1 being dropped by the new staff. Admittedly more than I thought.
Think Florida will replace that despite the coaching change? Bet they do. It's Florida.

Agree. It will also make you a consistent borderline top 25-35 team most years. Things could be a lot worse, but the frustrating part is it could be a lot better too. Just played around with the class calculator and had we gotten like 6 of the Missouri kids and held onto Foster we would currently be a top 10 class. I don't know that we would finish there, but I'd like the chances with that squad 2, 3 and 4 years down the road. Just a missed opportunity this year. Life goes on.

Yeah. It’s still 10.
And your argument wasn’t will Florida get other recruits. Your argument was the coach doesn’t matter. It obviously matters.

Babb(if he stays on the field), Perkins and Trout will be the biggest misses in the class. I don't know if they ever had a real shot at Babb, but the dismal start to the season cost them two Dlinemen with a ton of potential.
Brown hanging onto Nebraska is still puzzling considering what MU showed offensively after Mason got the boot. Goodrich now has LSU as his leader and he would be jumping in a class that has 2 4* WRs already committed and 3 WRs from the 2017 class.
Thompson, Knox, Scott, and Gray all play in a far deeper pool of talent than what exists in Missouri so I am not sure that you can say the staff is completely whiffing at WR.
The 2* TB from Pineview was the offensive center piece of one of the best teams in Texas. Guys on another board that live near Pflugerville think that MU got a steal.
The question was posed what would have happened if this class was in 2010 instead of 2017. I think the would have landed a majority of the players because they would have been sophomores during the 2007 season. That sophomore year is when the recruiting relationship takes off, especially with elite players that are starting to separate themselves from their class and assume starting roles on their varsity teams. These guys were sophomores during the 2015 season.

Is LSU recruiting Goodrich as a WR?
I thought Mizzou was recruiting him as a DB.
I know Illinois is recruiting Verdis Brown as a DT, but Mizzou is recruiting him as an OL.

It’s possible BO can get there. For now Mizzou is in that range this season, that’s with Mizzou coming offf of 2 straight losing seasons and starting 1-5. If he can get Mizzou to 8-9 wins next season, then recruiting probably picks up.
That would also be around the time that the SEZ project is completed, which is supposed to help with recruiting.

He isn't cracking their two deep at CB. He will RS, they will recruit past him, and he will be playing slot by his RSSo season.

It's 8, with at least 1 dropped. Look at the dates.
Does the coach matter if they still end up with a top class despite a coaching change? Or are they recruiting well because it's Florida and they ALWAYS recruit well?
