I'm sure you probably think any season where you wear the Bama jersey is a great season. You probably think he should've been at the Heisman ceremony with Tua after that SECCG performance. But generally speaking, we don't call seasons where a player rides the pine for more than 90 percent of it great

His last year at Alabama he played in 13 games, had a 72.9 Comp %, 765 yards, and 8 TDs.

I guess you really don't want to count that year because that is the year he came in for Tua and whooped your puppy behinds and won the SECCG!

I have given up trying to reason with some of these posters.

It is like having to reason with a 6 year old who wants a second ice cream and his reason is because he didn't get one yesterday and thinks he should have 2 today. He will never understand why he should only have 1 today because it just doesn't suit it narrative.

Sometimes you just have to say, you're not having the 2nd ice cream and just stop the circular argument.

Hurts - Alabama
Burrow - LSU

Both took the vast majority of their college snaps for the schools I listed.

How many times does this have to be said....... Ohio had, and still does have an embarrassment of riches at QB. Joe was running neck-in-neck with Dewayne Haskins for the starting spot when he unfortunately broke his hand giving Haskins the job. Joe was to good to sit and ended up transferring. Worked out well for both sides as Haskins passed for something like 50 TD's and 5000 yards, and Joe's 2nd year was historical. Also, if joe would have stuck around OSU never would have gotten Justin Fields.

Christian Miller a former Alabama player commented on this very topic and he said it is the silliest thing he’s ever heard of. Jalen nor Burrow know any of these fans that are stupidly arguing over players that never belonged to them anyway. Both of these players made great friends at both schools and those are the things that matter to the player.

Why would anyone affiliated with OSU want everyone in the world to remember that OSU made the BIGGEST player evaluation WHIFF (fuk-up) in CFB HISTORY?

Why?

I have learned over the past two months that Ohio State fans are the most "ENTITLED" group of fans on the face of the planet.

My first inclination is that they will claim him as an Ohio boy who they broke in.

I addressed that in the post, ma'am. But no. I wouldn't call that a great season. I doubt he would either in terms of college production. That season wouldn't get him on any short lists for HOF consideration whether in the Alabama football HOF or national HOF.

Ever seen any backups who were great as backups, go into the HOF as the "greatest backup"? Me neither.

Hurts claims Alabama. That should end all debates, but also the fact he played at Alabama for 3 seasons, is an Alabama graduate, an SEC Offensive Player of the Year at Alabama, 2 time SEC Champion, and National Champion at Alabama. I don't know why we still have this debate. There's no debate.

One of the things about Jalen that doesn't get discussed much is the fact that he was planning on transferring to, I think, UCF but Saban told him to go to OU to spend a year with Lincoln Riley who could help develop his passing game. With Tua coming back that just wasn't going to happen in Tuscaloosa. It worked out well for everybody, no hurt feelings anywhere (except on this board).

Nick Saban told Jalen Hurts forget Miami and Maryland, go to Oklahoma Well, I reckon it turned out pretty good for Hurts.

The former ‘Bama star learned how to pass it pretty damn well, and is now just one week from leading the Eagles into the Super Bowl.

Not a bad few years! Saban went on to discuss Hurts’ eventual transfer to Oklahoma the following year, which the two also talked about at length.

The message, Saban said, was once again simple: who has the best players? “He said, ‘Well, I feel comfortable going to Maryland or going to Miami, because Dan Enos was my coach, or I could go to Oklahoma,'” Saban said. “Well, I said, ‘Who has the best players?’

He wanted to go to Maryland and Miami, and I said you need to go to Oklahoma because they have the best players – the best coach to develop you as a quarterback and they have the best players – so that’s going to enhance your chances of having success.

“He did that and had a great year, and I was worried about having to play them in the playoffs. I can’t tell you how proud I am of seeing this guy in the Super Bowl.” PS: poor Miami. Those fans down there must HATE Nick Saban.

What gets lost in all this he said/she said BS is how important the transfer was to the career of the player. Neither Hurts nor Burrow would be where they are today without transferring. Anyone who says that the talent would have been self-evident once they got to the NFL is naive. Late round draft picks just don't get the same opportunities as those the club invested heavily in.

As much as it's been said, it's not how you start but how you finish, and in this case, that had everything to do with where you finished.

Whatever Hurts learned at UA most certainly helped him, but it was his year at OU that got him paid. Even more so for Burrow.

So, for that reason,

Hurts = OU
Burrow = LSU

Bama benched Hurts. OSU benched Burrow. This is not hard.
