Hurts- Bama or OU, Burrow- OSU or LSU

Hurts- I think it's fine for both teams to claim him and neither should be butt hurt over it.
I'd give most of the credit to Alabama. He got two years of playing experience with them. Did the hard work of getting to the title game before Tua won it. And he stayed the next year and got better. I don't think Jalen is where he is today if not for the work he put in at Alabama to try and win his job back.
That said, his best year statistically speaking was no doubt at OU. He got them to the playoff and he was a Heisman finalist. The dude had three great seasons as a college QB and two were at Alabama. Again though, maybe the most important season for him in terms of where he is now is the third one with the Tide where he hardly played. But you could see how much more dynamic he was in the SECCG. And while he may have not been on the field when Bama won the whole enchilada in 2017, he is the main reason they won any championship of any kind in 2018 with his fourth quarter performance in the SECCG.
Burrow?- Just stupid for OSU fans to claim him. He did nothing on the field whatsoever in Ohio and while his junior year was good, it was Brady who really saw Burrow for what he really was and unlocked that offense to let it show. We have memories of Hurts making big plays as an Alabama QB. We don't have any with Burrow as a Buckeye.
Verdict- Hurts is both a Bama and OU QB.
Burrow is an LSU QB.

Burrow said it himself, it's not where you start, it's where you finish.

So wait laughing here…. A “supposedly” Georgia fan is posting this question at 1:57am?
Rather, you should create a post at 1:57am explaining how you are not an alt account

Hurts is a Alabama alum. And played his last year at OU.
I'm really glad we are having this discussion for the umpteenth time.

Hurts-Philadelphia joe burrow-Cincinnati
College is over, and gatekeeping who claims who is lame. I’m sure Oklahoma and bama have fond memories of hurts and vice versa. Burrow probably has fond memories of osu through the experience but fans wouldn’t even know he existed if he hadn’t gone to lsu.

Wrong, Jalen played 3 years at Alabama and 1 year at OU.
Not getting into the debate as to whether he is a Bama product or an OU product, but he played in college for 4 years, not 3.

Brother, I know backwoods folk (maybe even in LA) that think the world is flat, but come on now. Put two and two together here. I've had to say this quite a few times on here when people look at the time of a post. Been posting here for years now.

I'm sure you probably think any season where you wear the Bama jersey is a great season. You probably think he should've been at the Heisman ceremony with Tua after that SECCG performance. But generally speaking, we don't call seasons where a player rides the pine for more than 90 percent of it great.
Hell, I wouldn't say Tua had a great season in 2017. A great second half of a title game for sure, but great season? No. I do think you kind of have to play a majority of it for it to be considered great.

I wasn't meaning he never played guy. Just that it was garbage time and summed up to a zero as far as significance. Man, some y'all's relatives need to be careful when telling you to "go jump in a lake".

Well Burrow did Graduate from both OSU & LSU; so theres that BUT………..If the situation were reverse I seriously doubt any real LSU Fan would try & claim him as a Tiger. If I'm OSU Id try my best to make OSU fans forget about Burrow & that he was ever at OSU.
The fact that OSU allowed a Heisman caliber QB to walk after NEVER playing any meaningful snaps over 3 full seasons & said QB went on to lead another program to the Greatest Season in CFB history, a Natty & the most lopsided Heisman Trophy win EVER!!
Why would anyone affiliated with OSU want everyone in the world to remember that OSU made the BIGGEST player evaluation WHIFF (fuk-up) in CFB HISTORY?

I've seen them discuss on a couple of message boards about letting him get away, but also that he likely ended up being as good as he was because their staff developed him better than Ed O. would have. I can't say that they don't have a point, but you never saw anything there to prove it. Ya gotta play the games.

To be fair, Haskins and Fields were Heisman finalists in 2018 and 2019. Not like they picked some scrubs

quote:I posted the stats just to show that Joe barely played at OSU and when he did they were up like 50-10. Joe is a Buckeye because he graduated there, but even he wouldn’t deny that he became a great QB at LSU. That can’t be denied.

Apples and Oranges.
Burrow's journey to LSU is more comparable to Cam Newton's journey to Auburn.
Neither made an impact on the other team.
Hurts was a multi-year starter that played in multiple championship games for Bama.

Man, this board is wild on Burrow.
I've seen posters here claim that in ten years everybody will think of Burrow as an Ohio State QB and no one outside of LSU fans will remember that he played at LSU.
