Remember when Myles Garrett destroyed us?

I vividly remember us trying to pull a guard over to pass block on Myles Garrett and audibly saying "what the frick?". I wanted to throw my tv through the wall. It happened several times and every time, our guy got to the spot and Garrett was two or three steps quicker.

Seeing a lot of Zak Hill being thought to be the guy and we’re just pending an announcement. (On3, Twitter, footballscoop, Reddit). Has he ever even been to the Southeast region of the country?

I'm not saying its not true.. who knows. But its literally all speculation based on an article coming out and saying it might be Zak Hill because they used to work together.. no sources or anything. Just a guess.

I’ve yet to figure out why Zak Hill is a bad hire.

But he seems like a good OC…

But he's an absolutely shite recruiter, and we need some recruiters.

Harsin has his O philosophy. It's a good one, IMO. He just needs to get somebody who can work with QB's and call a good game..........and knows his O.

I just hope we get someone who knows what play to call on 4th and 1 on your own 30-40 yard line.

I think he was spotted laying on the white beaches of Gulf Shores a couple of years ago. Does that count?

Zak Hill would be the next OC from Arizona State going all the way back until Chip Lindsey.

And can run an offense that can score more than 3-7 points after halftime against SEC teams. :)

Maybe because he had a worse offense than Bobo this year? Or that he's had only 1 top 25 offense in his 5 years of being an OC.

I'm just at the point that I want somebody that will score a lot points. I'm thinking Art Briles type of coordinator with some run game.

I have no clue what kind of talent he has over there. Maybe my expectations are so low because he doesn’t seem like a Dilly and that is a win.

Except he didn't, but if you'd spend more than 1 minute analyzing what is actually a very complex algorithm (the supposed ability or inability of an offensive play-caller) you'd be able to see that. Of course, this is too much to ask for your typical armchair expert who thinks that "Yards Per Game" and "Points Per Game" rankings basically give you the national ranking of Offensive Coordinators from best to worst.

Here's the actual analysis:

Arizona State was hopelessly plagued by turnovers this season. They ranked 116th nationally in fumbles lost per-game. They ranked 95th nationally in total giveaways-per-game. They ranked 120th in plays-per-game.

However, they ranked 21st nationally in offensive yards-per-play. They ranked 31st in 3rd down conversion percentage. They ranked 33rd in 4th down conversion percentage. They ranked 37th in "points-per-play".

What this means is that they didn't have a problem moving the ball or converting pivotal downs and moving the chains. What they had a problem with was giving the ball away. Turnovers mean that you get to run less plays (hence why they ranked nearly dead last in plays-per-game), which means that your "yards per game" take a hit, as does your "points per game".

In the last 5 years, ASU has had 2 top 25 class and 2 that were in the 30s. But then looking at the PAC12 rankings, they average around 4-5 in the conference behind Oregon, Stanford and USC.

I looked at total offensive stats:

Auburn #63
ASU #66

And I also looked at each year he has been an OC, but carry on.
