Yesterday morning I was told that it was going to be Jimbo. Ed put a whooping on Jimbo and then the narrative changes to Riley. Gundy puts a whippin on Riley and he bolts for LA then suddenly it's Napier. Flarda hires him. Now what LSU?

This is what happens when you fire a coach mid-season. It's not a good look that's for sure but I wouldn't expect any different from y'all.

Nah firing mid-season was the right call here. Imagine if they were still hedging with the improved play lately. It'd be Les Miles "We can't fire him now!" all over again.

Just a bad time to be looking for a coach. Lot of jobs out there.

Lsu should go all in on Kiffin. 10 year deal worth 125 million with a 50 million buyout.

They're talking about how Matt Campbell (who has turned down NFL jobs), Aranda, Napier, etc. aren't good enough for them.

I won't say LSU fans overvalue LSU, but they have a completely distorted view of how most hires go down. Far bigger brands have made recent mundane hires. The massive blockbuster is the rare exception.

We're way past "starting" and cruising right into "what next?" territory.

It's never been Napier. No matter how many times yall repeat it, it will never be true. He wasn't even considered for the job.

I'm hearing they are in serious discussions with this guy. Fits right in with the university president William Tate's vision for LSU. Kim Jong Un is seen here secretly preparing for future LSU coaching duties.

If I was a big name coach, or even a hot name coach, I wouldn't touch the LSU job until I knew what the NCAA is going to do to the program.

Hook too shiny. The only people panicking are the ones that also panic when we lose midweek games in baseball. I’m not too worried. Still think we’ll hire Aranda and it’ll end up being a slam dunk. It’s not difficult to be successful at LSU. If Les Miles and Ed fricking Orgeron can do it, most of the coaches that’ve been mentioned thus far in the search could definitely do it. Including Stoops.

The LSU coaching search is a mystery because just about every rumor has just been talking heads speculating. There's literally been nothing credible.

I was never big on Jimbo, or Napier, more on Dave Aranda since I heard he really liked living in Louisiana and seems like such a smart football guy. If he comes off the board with a big extension I will get really nervous.

I have to trust that Woodward knew what he was doing and has a plan because the opposite is really scary to think about. Frankly if this hire is a dud he could be gone in a few years.

But to be fair we did win titles with Les and O, so seriously, how bad does the next guy have to be to not win one as well?

Maybe some LSU fans but my wish list all along was Fickell, Aranda, and Napier. I like what I've heard about Campbell too but I feel like Aranda would make the most sense for LSU.

Ladies, stop equating what you read here with what LSU is actually doing! Leaking is how we got Ed O. Glad they got this one tightened up.

You were told, lol. Yes, I’m sure someone in the know at LSU is talking to you, a nobody.

Is there a fanbase quite like LSU fans for football?
