And Glenn will not be able to get those same opportunities at UGA I guess under a young coach just getting started.

I loved the aggressiveness of Pruitt

Schumann has great DC/ILB chops but without the baggage Pruitt has. Boom seems to be the most viable option of the three listed.

Pruitt
I'm pretty sure our blitz packages would at least occasionally have a blitzer get free access to the QB. Unlike now, where we unerringly and without fail manage to match up a blitzer with a blocker every time. I'm not sure how Golding manages it, but he does.

I don't care if it's Joe Pruitt, the janitor at the A D PI house, as long as it's not PG.

Muschamp.
Dude can still coach defense. He has just sucked as a head coach. I don't think anyone is looking to come poach him after his Florida and South Carolina stints, and he is the next logically candidate for the Saban rehab program. Plus we could use his fire and attitude on that side of the ball.
Pruitt is untouchable due to the NCAA issues with Tennessee.
Strong is a meh. I would rather have Boom.

I swear it looks like Harris just looks for anyone wearing an opposing jersey color and just runs into them, even if they’re engaged. He takes himself out of more plays than anyone I’ve ever seen.

The fact #8 still starts is concerning as far as the talent level at ILBer behind the guy. Three years and you can count the number of plays he has made on one hand.

Someone mentioned he “could shift to corner” in high school, but then you see him chasing a TE/WR and taking the absolute worst angles which, again, takes him out of the play.
I watched him try to blitz around the B gap, and he literally just ran into a mob of people without even attempting to rush the QB. Just just sees traffic and runs to it.
I’m extremely disappointed in the LB play. And my understanding is that Golding is in charge of that group.
Golding just needs to go, period. I know everyone has said that, but it’s true.

bring ole penis head back. Tennessee cant seem to demonstrate that he actually did anything wrong besides having a bad personality and being a bad head coach. but hes the best DC Saban has ever had

I am convinced that the two ILBs are particularly confused by Golding’s calls and their responsibilities. Henry To’o To’o was a very good player this time a year ago for Tennessee. Christian Harris was playing good ball for us the second half or last season - I have seen him make highlight plays.
When I watch them this year, they are always slow to react and very timid to the ball/play - especially Harris. They look very unsure of where they are supposed to be and what they are supposed to do. I don’t know how else to explain the lack of ability and intensity, given that we have seen them in the recent past.

Pruitt would be my first choice, although would've bene nice if we'd at least ran off Golding prior to spring and told Strong the DC job was his if he didn't want to do the pros.
But also, if we fire Golding after perhaps another bad showing against MSU or even UT (god forbid it comes with another loss), would we promote Charles Kelly in the meantime? I know he didn't have a great stint at FSU as their DC, but he was the LB coach during their championship year. Could hand over all all the secondary to Valai and let Kelly take over ILBs and call plays? Is there any analyst we'd actually promote to an on-field role on defense?
I'm not sure what it would look like to get rid of a DC mid-season but maybe you just let Kelly take over play calling and have Pete focus on something else position wise?

Chizik? I'd take him right now.

Yeah and there was one particular play where he met Spiller in the gap and Spiller kind of halfway ran through and around him that was absolutely pathetic. It looks like the guy is going half speed. I don't know if it's from being lost due to the scheme or if he's trying to save himself for the future. If it's the latter, he better have a helluva combine because he's not getting drafted based on the tapes.

So Will Muschamp is the only guy who can fix this?

Bring Brother Bill back as interim DC for redemption/victory lap.
He's probably got 9 games left in him
