When was the last time we had a coordinator this long who had not gotten an offer to move up somewhere else?

Dave Rader comes to mind. I don't know if you remember him but he was Mike Shula's OC who was selling encyclopedias or something like that when Shula hired him.

Maybe Saban has talked behind the scenes to Kevin Steele about returning as DC.

Ole Dave was selling furniture at Haverty's (I think that was the story)

That wouldn't be a bad hire if they could make it work. Steele would be longevity almost for sure, he has to have conceded his fate to be a lifetime assistant by now.

But, Pruitt is the passionate, half crazy, Xs and Os attacking defensive mind I'd like to see again the most.

I think most of us need to accept the fact Pruitt isn't coming back as long he's under investigation. It'll be a while before we'll know anything. Doubt he'll be able to come back after December. NCAA hasn't "cleared" him or anything like that.

Strong ain't coming back. He's at Auburn and is likely to get another HC job .

Muschamp- I wouldn't be shocked to see him taking alabama DC job. Kirby won't be able to hold on to him after December.

Kevin Steele- He's good, but not quite that good.

Then he has zero job security beyond this year.

He got at least one offer, perhaps two, after we beat OSU in the CFPCG. Apparently, Saban gave him a raise and an extension to keep him here:

What could have been. Imagine if LSU had hired him. We'd be happy to be rid of him and they would be melting epically over him.

Maybe for us…it would depend on who replaced him…

As for LSU, not so certain. Golding would’ve been a vast improvement over Bo Pellini who was an unmitigated disaster last year (#123 in total defense). And I’d guess since Golding has Bama currently at #15 in total defense and Daronte Jones (whose a 1st time DC) has LSU at #74, LSU fans would probably still be bitching but not as much as they are now…

I wish Saban had LET Sark/Texas hire Golding away and buyout his contract.

I wouldn't be opposed to Kevin Steele being our DC. He would be better than our current option and could give the NCAA more time to get the Pruitt investigation done

Maybe Steele as DC along with Pruitt as an analyst initially.
