Why?

Seriously why do some of you say that.
Size? Bryce Young is the same size.
Speed? Nah, he’s faster than any QB UGA has ever had outside of Fields, Shock, and when Hines had to take snaps.

Accuracy? 70% I’ll take it.
Arm strength? False narrative, he’s easily got a stronger arm than Jake did, and he can make all the throws. ( don’t say he can’t , because you just show you don’t know football)

The one knock, is he can be a bit of a gambler with the ball, high risk high reward. Some of the best college guys have been that way.. so what.
I think either guy can lead the team to the title, so whatever KS does is fine.

Those of you saying he can’t, what you are rally saying is you don’t want him to be the one.. and that’s just sad.

It is Stets job to lose now, he took advantage of the opportunity afforded to him with JT hurt, just like Fromm did to Eason. Hot hand, can't bench him. If he starts to frick up or get hurt, it is JT back in.

Exactly. What does it say to a team when you bench a guy who’s given his all and been very successful. This is Stetson’s offense right now.

I thought you at least kinda liked the guy. Did you really just compare our backup quarterback to this Jerz-guid?

No situation. JT is our starter. He has been sidelined with a couple of relatively minor injuries, but ones that required being dealt with via rest, otherwise you risk aggravating them further.

Bennett has stepped up in JT's absence and given the coaches the luxury of not pushing JT to return any sooner than necessary. God forbid a situation warrant it, they could get JT into the game if it became dramatically-appropriate.

Bennett's role on the team is one we haven't had in a loooooong time, and that's a capable backup QB who not only can keep us from losing, but who's got the guts to help us win. Yes, he totally laid eggs in Jax & Tuscaloosa last year, but I'd venture a guess that he's not the same QB as a year ago.

Two separate times, we've faced Bama and their QB2 has come off the bench to wreck our dreams. Maybe it's finally our turn.

Ride Stet - look at it this way. If he gets injured, or doesn't perform well... you have a great backup.

(J. Hurts / Tua sound familar?)

Bennett didn't lay an egg against Florida--he was 14 ahead before spraining his AC joint.

Bennett and Daniels are different but I'm not sure that one of them is much better than the other. We are okay unless both get injured.

Seems that what you're getting from half the posts. JT is the starter when he's healthy. We all love Stet and what he has done for UGA, but JT is capable of winning a shootout against Alabama if it comes to that. He's the more talented player who gives you the ability to run every play in the playbook, sans maybe some RPO stuff. But do you really want Stet running that all that much? Probably not. It's tough to bench Stet after they way he has stepped up, but you have to play the better overall QB, and that is JT.

I will never apologize for pulling for the homegrown non carpetbaggers like Stet.

You must be clinging to the era when the UGA roster was 98% Georgia kids plus a few throw-ins from Florida and South Carolina.

Those days are long over. If you want to be elite, you recruit nationally, as Smart has done. By your logic, you root more for Fitz and less for Darnell Washington (Nevada) or Brock Bowers (California.) Or I guess you prefer Dajun Edwards, since he's literally our only scholarship running back from Georgia. Are Zeus (NC), Milton (CA), Cook (Miami FL), and McIntosh (Ft. Lauderdale FL) not "dawg enough" because they are from out of state?

You need to correct those NFL scouts because they all have Daniels going anywhere from high 2nd round to mid 1st round but don't project Bennett heading anywhere (except maybe to coach at Pierce County HS).

Give 'em the low down on Bennett's big league arm and incredible running ability. I don't think the scouts realize that Bennett is the next Steve Young.

They're obviously dawgs. But, no, they are not on the same level as a homegrown Georgian that grew up living and dying by with Georgia football and dreaming of playing in Sanford Stadium one day. Not really rocket science here.

Take JT Daniels for instance, the carpet bagger from California. The dude has a USC themed sleeved tattoo that covers half of his leg.I wonder why he would get something like that? Could it be because Southern California is his home? And because he grew up worshipping USC football? And dreaming of playing there? And he loves it with his heart and soul?

If I was a USC fan, I would love to see that in my QB. Not so much the ugly look-at-me skin bumper sticker. But the fact that he is one of us to the core. You'd probably have trouble understanding that though since your roots are probably about as shallow as your snarked out gimp posts.

JT proved it last year what he can do and Stetson can’t … Still very fresh on my mind how many times balls batted down and forced throws for interceptions. I like the mailman nice feel good story, but if he was that good why didn’t we win the natty last year. The receivers run better routes and JT has the touch to hit them in stride.

Yep, Stet's the cure to what ails us when JT's not available, but we're gonna have to have JTD to shift to the next gear.

We're fortunate to have these two in our arsenal.

While Stet is the better runner, JT's passing ability keeps defenses honest, and opens up the run for us. So I think that sidesteps his running limitations.

Plus, JT's gold on 3rd downs.

JT unless he's hurt.

This is unfair to Stet and Monken. The rash of batted balls came in the Alabama game. Monken made adjustments and in the Florida game Stet was doing well until he got injured.
Monken this year has schemed around Bennetts size and even though teams know how Bama beat us they can't get to Bennett when he moves outside the pocket and the OL holds their blocks.

Note:

No transplant or other assorted out of state piggy backer will ever cancel state pride. Just because it makes you feel inferior or like like you arent being included.

The team is called the Georgia Bulldogs. The school, the University of Georgia

Understand that you are being politely tolerated. Nothing more. As the signs say at the borders on the way in thru the interstates, “Were glad Georgias on your mind”

Amen.

I’m starting to have a vision as I harass all of my questionable contacts to get tickets to KY.

SECCG…2021…in The Benz.

Bama shows up and plays the best game of the year. JT is a superstar and has us in it until he takes a shot late in the forth and goes down with UGA down by three.

The Mailman comes off the bench. The rush that Bama used to slow JT backfires as IV scrambles for first down after first down. Their defense can’t adjust to the running threat so they load the box until that late throw under pressure to Moonshine….the 3 star from Gods country with the scars that only growing up in the Dirty Murray can give….who has no business playing….to win the game and a playoff birth.

Tears and screams of joy.

TLDR..how awesome would it be to beat Bama with a late QB change to Bennett? Fanfiction …sure….but damn.
