Yes, I know. And then what happened the rest of the year?

It’s funny that Texas still has a tougher SOS over the past 10 seasons than A&M despite A&M being in the SEC.

Aggy gets to play South Carolina every year.

The biggest shock for them will be how every week is a grind in the SEC. They are used to playing a game in October and maybe one in November. We will see how they fair when they play eight physical games a year.

So you're saying this is about what we can expect from Texas in the SEC?

hopefully we get to schedule a November game vs a 1AA opponent like the sec does to alleviate effects of that grind

We develop players down in Norman. I know that concept is lost on most of you. Keep star-gazing at Rivals rankings from when kiddies were in HS tho.....

Develop? Oh yeah I’m sure that equates to losing to Kansas State back to back and how does this development help when y’all match up against an SEC team in a playoff game?

Oooh, such a badass you are.

I know you are used to feeling good because Texas has highly ranked classes that never seem to pan out. You mentioned Rivals which is a garbage site partly because it was started by Bobby Burton who literally works for Inside Texas.

At SEC schools often times the recruits you should worry about the most are when Bama or UGA or LSU or A&M take a low ranked 3 star that comes out of nowhere. They don't miss very often. All of them have massive recruiting budgets and unlimited resources to evaluate anyone and everyone and to go after whomever they want. They can't afford to be fat and happy, ever.

Don't worry though, you will get plenty of chances to show us how we are wrong and should fear you.

Yeah, I'm real sorry that we write a check to a state school in a month where the other 3 games are top ten matchups.

Welcome to hell, fish. You'll learn slowly because you're stupid, but you'll learn.

I don’t think they grasp how little respect we have for them. They’ve been big fish in a small pond forever. Now you’re gonna be swimming with the sharks. To us you’re just food.

How about going back a little further when we had the top pick in the draft, 2 years in a row, both of which we Heisman winners.

Got to be some really creative stats to get to that argument.

Last year we played an All SEC schedule. The 2 years before that we played our normal SEC West schedule and added Clemson for a home and home. We have played every NC but 1 on our schedule since 2015.

On Austin radio they talk about how tough Iowa State is.

No creative stats. This was posted and discussed on here across multiple threads.

Also for last year’s record, 7 of A&M’s 10 games were against teams with .500 or less record. You definitely were fortunate who you were matched up against in the east.

I think the week to week "grind" could be a challenge for OU but maybe more in the long run once teams are familiar with OU. Preparing for OU in 4 days during a tough conference schedule is different than having 4 weeks.

Talent. Besides Bama and LSU...the talent differential among the likely starters really isnt that bad. Plus QB play can be a huge equalizer. Having a slight talent advantage while having a Mond-ish QB doesnt really translate to automatic success.

A lot of this will still depend on the scheduling arrangement. People outside of the SEC tend to view the 8 game schedule as a way to reduce fratricide among the bigs. If you go to a 9 game schedule with a better rotation you might see current SEC teams with more losses.

We have some data points to look at now that Cult Aggie and Misery have been in the SEC for some time. Not sure they have any better or worse win % than before.

Yep, and it'll get pretty hot for the brass at LSU when the title 9 investigators finally get around to watching the LSU-OU playoff game.
