Part of me agrees. The other part only sees three wins on this year’s schedule and thinks they will be humbled enough that it will be more like 12 months.

They will try almost immediately, but they will find that Alabama/UGA/LSU/UF/Auburn/UT are much more formidable than Texas Tech/Baylor/TCU/Oklahoma State/etc.

They can try but SEC doesn’t need them. They desperately need SEC. Pendulum has been in their favor for decades. Over the last 12 years OU has stood by and let Texass show their arse. Pendulum has now swung fully from Texass and will never go back.

This likely parlays into more star studded potential teams in SEC, adding more value and leverage against Texas
If/when Texas leaves, independence will be less attractive, PAC 12 west coast game time and NFL Sunday limitation, ACC or Big 10 lose value when SEC takes from them too.

We all bow down to the media companies. In the SEC that so happens to be ESPN
