Really interesting and honest interview with Najee reflecting on his time at Alabama. He's probably become one of my 4-5 favorite student athletes of the Saban era. Can't wait to watch him at the next level and can't wait for him to cash in on his hard work and patience.

I wonder what effort are made for players to feel less homesick.
I imagine at Alabama with so many players from so many different states, it's more of an issue in Tuscaloosa than most every other college town.

It really is an in depth eye opening and honest recounting of his times and struggles while at Alabama. Learnt quite a bit about what players go through while playing football and going to school. Love the support system he had to help him through his maturation process. Has a good mother too; glad she decided to move here with him. Part 1 of this interview is also very good viewing.

A dislike of “fake” people is a theme in conversations with Harris. And the way fans turned on the team in the rare intersection with adversity bothered Harris to the point he sometimes avoided interactions outside the stadium after games.
“I was like ‘Y’all are here for all the good stuff but when stuff goes wrong, you always bash all these names on Twitter and all that stuff,’” Harris says. “‘You don’t know what anybody’s going through and they’re quick to criticize somebody. … If you don’t like me, I don’t lose sleep off stuff like that.”

Thing is...on social media "Bama fans" aren't necessarily Bama fans.
He's entitled to his opinion. Bama used him to win football games and he used Bama as his best path to becoming a millionaire. It is what it is. Great RB, but I don't think he's "full of Bama" or anything. And that's ok... he's not the only one in that category.

You are right. The 1992 team had a lot of key players from Alabama: Jay Barker, Sherman Williams, Prince Wimbley, David Palmer, Roosevelt Patterson, George Teague, Antonio Langham, John Copeland, Lemanski Hall, and I'm sure plenty of others.
Not too many of them on more recent national championship teams.

Sports players always crack me up when they start talking about fan support. Do you think fans are there to get to know your personal struggles and pat you on the back when you don’t get it done on the field? Fans are there to see their team do well and win. Period, always been that way and always will be that way. Do players personally care about each fan’s personal problems and seek to encourage each one through their personal stuff? No? How insensitive of them! What a bunch of wishy washy athletes! Part of maturity is learning not to care what others think. Appreciate the cheers and tune out the jeers.

Great Article. Shows a young Man with internal issues growing up to be a Man. Most people struggle. Saban is tough to play for but the light at the end of the tunnel is real. Thank God for unanswered prayers.

Like Saban told Julio. We'll win big with you, or without you.
He's entitled to his feelings and his opinions. But Bama put him on a national stage and he will be a multi millionaire on day 1 in the NFL.
I can respect how he went about his business. And I guess this is what we get recruiting nationally. The best of the best, but that can come with some ambivalence.
Unlike with, say, Antonio Langham, where it meant more.
Remind me: who was criticizing Najee? He was a star from the jump, all the way back to the 2017 title game. Or is he upset of some criticism of other players? Got news for you my dude--that's not unique to Alabama.
I think I might have my nose out of joint here. Need to go watch some Smitty videos..
