Just gumped out and went to youtube and watched Bediako's highlight reel at Alabama and Omoruyi at Rutgers. Omoruyi is vastly superior in just pure athleticism and experience, probably has a little better hands. But I had forgotten how good Charles was when he arrived at Angry Chuck mode. Guy was just a load and those arms were crazy long.

Let’s get Sears and Stevenson back and then we’re cooking.

There it won’t be any sneaking up on anyone next year. We will be the hunted. But I think we have the coach and players that will be up to it.
Biggest obstacle will probably be ourselves just in terms of keeping everyone on the same page and working out rotations and minutes. Some definitely won’t play the minutes they thought or were anticipating. Hopefully this year’s bunch will be as team oriented as last years

We have never seen Basketball recruiting like this at Alabama. Accumulation of talent is unprecedented. Sanderson couldn’t recruit like this; he rarely ventured out of the SEC hunting grounds.
We could always recruit one or two great players but never in such numbers.

Nate is the best closer in the country.. Saban like IMO.
Oats really benefitted from swallowing his own ego and being willing to learn from Saban. It helps he was already a Saban admirer before he got here. But he learned and he added to what he was already doing and the result is one of the best young coaches in basketball.

Would add that Cliff seems like a MUCH better jumper, more athletic, much more aggressive offensively and defensively, and more skilled offensively. One of his highlight reels, dunking and blocking shots, on this site was one of the more exciting college BB videos I've seen.

Cliff will be the best defensive player we’ve had on the roster since Herb left.

As I do every year, I'm going to go ahead and take a guess at the minutes distribution assuming Sears and Stevenson come back...
Minutes Distribution:
PG - Sears (30), Philon (10)
SG - Wrightsell (25), Aden (15)
SF - Reid (20), Youngblood (20)
PF - Nelson (25), Stevenson (15),
C - Cliff (25), Sherrell (15)
Easily the hardest time I've had guessing at the depth of this roster. Changed it a dozen times. Definitely could see Mallette or Cunningham over Aden or Mo taking some of Stevenson/Sherrell's minutes. Feel pretty confident Philon will have a role on this team as he is one of two that have a knack for penetration and might be the best on the team at it. Could see him getting some of Aden's minutes as well. I think I feel pretty confident in everyone but Mallette, Cunningham, Aden, and Dioubate having significant role next year (if everyone is healthy). Unlike every other year, I don't have a single player who I'm remotely confident won't have a significant role next year. Will be really interesting to see how it all shakes out.

The good part is most everyone on our team is big and athletic enough to play multiple positions. Probably Cliff is the only guy that is a 1 position player. A few of these guys could play up to 3.
The minutes will work themselves out. The young guys will need to get acclimated and it’ll give us a lot of different looks and lineups to throw at teams. Then when your random injury like Wrightsell’s concussion or a turned ankle makes someone have to sit you aren’t panicked. Wrightsell being banged up likely cost us a share of the regular season sec title.

We’re not only going to have a very deep team, but also an extremely veteran squad. Thunder starting five in playoffs now vs. potential 24-25 Bama starting 5 by next March:
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (25)
Jalen Williams (23)
Luguenz Dort (25)
Josh Giddey (21)
Chet Homgren (22)
Average: 23.2
Mark Sears (23)
Latrell Wrightsell Jr. (22?)
Chris Youngblood (23)
Grant Nelson (23)
Cliff Omoruyi (23)
Average: 22.8

Stevenson will want more than 20 minutes. He'll come back more developed in the offseason and if he'd known he'd only play 15 minutes next season he would have entered the portal a few days ago.
