It's not fair for the East to have 2 Vanderbilts from Tennessee in their division.

You guys have Auburn and Moo State.

I don't see that big of a difference

It's time to let the 2 best teams play each other in the SECCG. What a novel approach.

Auburn and Miss State are 19-6 vs Tenn and Vandy since 2000.

Pod scheduling is absolutely what we should go to. Bag the divisions.

14 teams just doesn't work well. Time to expand or reduce number of schools. Since they won't reduce do to money, expansion is needed. Then go to 4 division pods with cross pod rivals for a 9 game conference schedule. Each team will play their 3 pod mates, their 3 cross rivals and 3 non rivals from another pod on a rotating bases.

They need to up the number of conference games by at least 1 and/or go to the pod system

And then do a 4-team playoff for the conference championship with the winner of each pod.

Do away with divisions, lock in a few permanent opponents, and you'll play a home-and-home with every conference opponent every four years. Divisions are useless.

The only change that makes sense to me is to put Auburn in the East and put Mizzoo in the West

Then what? Have a SEC semi-final before the SEC championship game? Adding 2 more games to the 2 in the CFP? And who do you add to make 16? Two strong teams, which would eliminate 15 teams from the CFP immediately? Or two creampuffs that would hurt SOS so we don't have "certain fans" to bitch about how unfair the pods are to begin with?

In all seriousness, the SEC needs to do something about the playing a team from the other divisions more than once a lifetime.

My favorite setup is a 9 game schedule. You play 5 "rivals" every year. The remaining 8 teams as split into an odd or even year. For example:

Missouri rivals: Arkansas, Kentucky, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt. (These are just what I picked for this example)

Even Years: Alabama, LSU, Miss St, Tennessee
Odd Years: Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss

Rotate home and away.

The only downside is the 5-4 home vs road that rotates every year, but a good AD will have a non con p5 home game to add.

This will allow every team to play home and away against every team every 4 years. Scrap the divisions, and the top 2 teams play in the SECCG.

Yep, add a North Carolina and a Virginia and the pods would be nicely divided north(UT, Candy, UK, VT) south(Bama, AU, MSU, Ole Miss) east (UF, UGA, USC, NCstate) west(aTm, LSU, Ark, Mozzy).

With the pod system you do not have to add a semi final game. Option one the two pods that play each other that year have a champ that goes to the championship game. Option two the two beat records overall go to the championship game. I have whole write-up on it I can post.

With the pod system every team will have played every other team in 3 years. Which allows a 3 year starter to see every sec team at least once.
