Just looked at NFL head coaching salaries and they are way higher than I thought they’d be

Question is, who wins the coarch Uban Meyers sweepstakes when he gets fired in a few years? Like Bama with Saban
I'd say Notre Dame, but their administration is probably too smug (and stupid) and thinks Meyer is a cancer given his "scandals." Brian Kelly has had wins vacated, kept a player on the team who raped a girl which drove her to commit suicide, and had a student photographer die under his watch. Apparently that's worse than having an assistant coach (who was let go) on staff who beat his wife.

He's going to the pros because he never wanted to stop coaching but he couldn't close on recruits in the living room because the cover-up of a wife beater was just a big stain on his record to the mothers. Take a look at their class from the year all that stuff broke. They finished 14th in the nation when they'd been consistently vying for the top class essentially every year he'd been there.
He doesn't have to sell job to a high school senior's momma anymore in the NFL. He was just waiting for the right situation...and this one he gets to pick the franchise QB he'll hitch his ride.

Using 2020 numbers, there were 17 NFL coaches making at least $5 million.
There were at least 16 college coaches making that.
Yeah, there are plenty more making a lot less, just because there are 100+ programs.
My point is that there is not much of a pay difference between the two at the top level, and the college schedule (both in season and offseason) is significantly shorter.

I think the NFL is easier to coach than college. Most of the players actually know how to play football, and you don't have to deal with recruiting or boosters ...

Not sure why he would come to Jacksonville to coach a NFL team, since there is no evidence of an NFL team here.

More money
Are you sure?
Elite NFL HCs get paid more than elite college HCs. I believe there are 5 NFL HCs who get paid more than Saban does.

How long until he has "health problems" and quits?

Money and do not have to recruit.

Personally, I think Meyer’s done coaching college football. He knows he can’t catch Saban, can’t handle the stress, and really has nothing left to prove at the level. If the NFL doesn’t work out, he’ll go back to working as a commentator on Fox.

To guys like Meyer NFL coaching hours will feel like bankers hours compared to college
