What is the likelihood we play in a bowl other than the Peach bowl?

The wife is hounding me about buying Peach Bowl tickets but wondering what the odds are we go to another bowl? I haven't heard any other bowl or scenario where we don't go to the Peach.

Considering people don't want to be too far from home in our scary Covid-19 world, I would guess that UGA in the Peach Bowl is a good bet.
For instance Athlon Sports projects UGA vs Cincinnati in the Peach Bowl: Athlon Sports Projections

Its the most likely scenario but there is also a chance we go to the Orange and play an ACC team since the bowl is contracted to take either a SEC or Big 10 team.

I really hope we kick the shite out of Cincy if we play them. It's such a joke they have that ranking

Odds are low we go somewhere else. However, they announce them all on Sunday, I think.

I'm confident that we have better players overall but you never know in a game like that whether individual matchups can favor a seemingly inferior team. I guess we will find out soon enough.

I wouldn't bank on it. After Clemson, Ohio St, Texas A&M, Iowa St, Florida, and Cincinnati all lose on Saturday, I dont see how the committee can't put us in the playoffs...

Everything I've seen and read about this bowl season is they are trying to keep a regional focus; ie, nobody is traveling very far for their bowl game outside of the CFP.

Biggest problem I would see is how many players do we have in transfer portal/prepping for draft at that point if Cincinatti is the team. It's a no win scenario for UGA and the players. I still think we would be favored, but with enough departures, we could find ourselves substantially hobbled in certain aspects (likely on the defensive side of the ball).

I don't think we'll have the problem this year that we did with Texas. I think this team will be excited to play their bowl because they know that next year could be amazing with the offense.

Dogs of Georgia need to schedule the Trojans of Southern California in a January 2nd impromptu bowl game inside any high school stadium in Dallas, Texas. Would be highest rated game of bowl season.

I agree, but I think that could actually play to our favor. Having a bunch of young players taking reps gives them experience PLUS it keeps them focused to win a job for next year instead of being complacent and disappointed in facing a "lesser" team.

At least that is what I am hoping. Something along the lines of what we saw against Baylor last year.

Plus we had a few bad eggs that obviously didn't want to be there and didn't care once we lost the SECCG.As bad as that loss
was I think Kirby learned some valuable lessons on how to approach future post seasons and senior leadership.

The difference was night and day last year vs Baylor and from what I heard about the practices,so was Kirby's approach.

Tight end Tre McKitty, linebacker Monty Rice and cornerback D.J. Daniel have all decided that they will not take part in the UGA bowl game, which will be announced Sunday afternoon.

I thought McKitty was still deciding...

Either way - to add to DawgsLife's post - if you dont make the playoffs in this day in age, I almost feel like the bowl game is a weird way in advance preseason game for the next year. I am much more interested in seeing more playing time for next year's Dawgs than I am seeing guys who are leaving.

That all being said - I do want to see LeCounte suit up one last time for us. An all timer DGD right there.

Thinking a lot of Bowl games will look more like 2021 Spring games as far as the rosters go.

Is it really? The bowl game season may or may not actually end up happening in full this year. Covid protocols for the schools are likely not the most fun thing to deal with. As Peter said, I don't think we'll be the only team who looks a little more like our Spring 21 roster than our Fall 20 roster come bowl game.

Monty has been playing injured for pretty much the whole season. I don't fault him for wanting to heal up and get right for the next phase of the game for him.

Tre McKitty opting out might be a blessing in disguise. Would we be a better team with him? Probably. But we're still battling some discontent within the TE room, fewer bodies means more targets for a certain giant TE that might help solidify him and prevent any transfer portal concerns.

DJ Daniel would be nice to have, but if we're going to be starting a bunch of brand new corners next year, I'd rather the ones on the roster that are here start getting snaps and practices now along with trial by fire in a bowl game. The staff needs to know how hard they need to hit the transfer portal now that Warren isn't in this incoming class.
