re: Of the top-100 recruits of '22

I saw where Albert Hollis, out of Sacramento, California, was an All-American in '99. The greatest player to never played a down, except in the G-Day game, at Georgia. I still wouldn't consider him a bust because a knee injury pretty much ended his football career.

one example of the mobile nature of recent athletes is, of teams that finished in the top-20 in recruiting last season, its all-time top recruit, since '99, has hailed from out of state, with exception of Texas, A&M, LSU, Georgia, Wisconsin and Maryland.
Alabama - Cyrus Kouandjio - Maryland
Ohio St - Terrelle Pryor - Pennsylvania
Georgia - Justin Fields - Georgia
Clemson - Trevor Lawrence - Georgia
LSU - L Fournette - Louisiana
Oregon - K Thibodeaux - California
A&M - Myles Garrett - Texas
USC - Joe McKnight - Louisiana
N.D. - Jimmy Clausen - California
Sooners - Adrian Peterson - Texas
Miami - D.J. Williams - California
Florida - Ronald Powell - California
Michigan- Rashan Gary - New Jersey
N.C. - Marvin Austin - D.C.
Vols - Bryce Brown - Kansas
Badgers - Josh Oglesby - Wisconsin
Texas - Vince Young - Texas

I feel shame; didn't realize A&M people were here.

Texas A&M, Missouri, and Arkansas are not even geographically in the Southeast; all three need to be exiled from Southeastern Conference. They can take South Carolina with them too.

9 hail from state of Georgia, 18 from Texas, 12 from Florida, and 9 from California. The top recruit from each state, 'cept California, headed out of state, for now.

His family ain't gonna want him to ride the bench. He should sign with Tulane, its closer to home, he'd start from day one, and get a bronze statue outside stadium after resurrecting its program. Only problem with Green Wave is they won't come any closer to sniffing a playoff spot than Cincinnati did in '20. But, he'd put up Heisman numbers.

Crystal ball prediction believed he was headed to Vols prior to mass exodus of coaching staff. State of Georgia becoming mecca for QBs, it has a couple of decent QBs in class of '22.

I'd rather see him sign with Ole Miss. It'll be an institution where he can win the Heisman and national title; either the Bayou Bengals, or Tennessee (if Vols can bring in right coach). Can't foresee him going off the grid and signing with a Stanford or Notre Dame type school; probably wants to stay close to his family. Would be death knell of SEC if he signs with Alabama.

Okay, I had to go back and review it; I understand what you're saying now.

It's a long story, but has to do with what the girls called me back in high school. This is a recruiting discussion site only; however, get with me on the main board and I'll tell you the reader's digest version of events.

That's exactly what I thought, too, but then I saw you calling myself and some other guy a "troll." I've been a member of rant since '17, but only started posting for the past three or four weeks. I only use one moniker.

I always heard he was nothing but a cancer. He was run out of town on a rail at FSU for some type of inappropriate relations BS. He was never a head football coach, even at the high school level. Never understood his appeal; nothing but an old hothead.

It won't be Georgia since Vandagriff will most likely be running the show, with Gunner Stockton waiting in the wings. Never know, it could be Alabama, if Coach Saban says he'll hang around another 5 or 6 years.

You talking 'bout Zach Evans, the number one RB coming out of high school last year? That was a big time mistake not taking him.

He transfers to Ohio State, and loses biggest game of his career, on the national stage, to an institution that has nothing in its state 'cept football? I could foresee that occurring.

Arch Manning? Georgia will most likely be coming off back-to-back national titles with Vandagriff at the helm, so Dogs will be out of the running for the possible '26 Heisman winner. Rather see him sign with Ole Miss than Vols of LSU. The only award that has alluded the Manning clan is the Heisman and national title, so he'll be looking to go somewhere to claim those two trophies.

I still recall when Peyton brought home Heisman

in '97, and Vols won mythical national title the following season. Late at night, I often wonder how much that title cost the Vols' bagman.

Why doesn't Navy play the Bears of the United States Coast Guard Academy in football?

Auburn got a mythical national title off that $220K they paid Cecil. Cam was in the room, but didn't know anything about the financial transaction taking place between Auburn's bagman and Cecil. I trust Cecil.
