Always the issues with transfers. You roll the dice every year with them, not the way to win in the SEC.

It'll be interesting to see what he does without Moody next season.

I don't like the idea of using grad transfers each year. It would be good for a temporary fix but not a way to build a basketball team.

I don't know a bout this hire right now. Surely we aren't going to give him four or five years to make the tournament.

If he has a Pelphrey esque collapse this year, it will be hard to make it to 3.

There’s really no other way to describe how the team looks. Nightmares from those days.

Reading an article from yesterday, He’s seeing issues with their defending of the three ball because guys are worried about their lateral quickness and getting blown guy.

Guess our staff got complacent and assumed we’d have another set of guys like Joe and Mason that aren’t the best athletes but able to defend. Clearly that doesn’t jive with the averages and we did a ooor job evaluating these guys.

Like I’ve said, so many coaches under estimate the overall athleticism of the SEC.

Not good.

He stated that in the post game presser, said he thinks they are scared to contest the three and have the offense blow by them for a two.

If he doesn't have the athletes to play man, other defenses are allowed that can be used to mask this defincency.

I think it more telling when the opponents are picking his team up at half court, while his team is more of less the free throw extended on most possessions.

For all of you who were so stoked about the weighted vest and "old school" practice following the lsu drumming, Muss said he would have to get with his staff and see if that is the wrong approach to get his team to respond.

Agreed. I still have hope that it won't go down like that but if it does we need to pull the plug quickly.

I think he would still make it to year three but he would be on the hot seat. If he doesn't make it next year to the tournament then it is time to move on.

He said after the comment of the practice that there was a chance that it could negatively effect the team against Bama but help us long term. If he was right no the second part I have no problem with it but we will find out over the next few weeks if that was the case.

It just seems to me like those types of motivational tactics never work. Similar to Morris taking the team’s gear away. You’ve either got it or you don’t, doing that isn’t going to make them more talented on game day.

IDK man, using weighted vests, etc does effect motor skills in time.

Having to jump, run, shoot with those things on does help sometimes.

I wouldn't go that far but there seems like two lines of thinking after a bad loss like that. Push them extra hard at practice or "burn the tape". As the announcers were talking about, the second approach seems to work more for teams that a really good and have a major off night. Clearly that isn't the case here but time will tell.

If the team is not looking better from this point on, we can say it was a bad decision on Musselman's part.

Well it was a great bounce back after looking like a repeat of the last few games. Our 2nd half adjustments were very good and won the game. That ending was terrible though. Hopefully Sills is out of his slump for good this year and the team is going to build on this.

Williams needed a breather in the end

Davis not knowing to run the baseline the second time

Two bad coaching moves but the coaching that got us back in the game was tremendous

It's nice that our next game is against a struggling Vandy team who we can hopefully use to springboard to some positive momentum.

Pretty much, I think he was so scared of subbing at the end when it was for the most part flowing very smoothly in the 2nd half. I think he has finally started to figure out where the majority of the mins need to go.

Coaches will continue to use that strategy on Cooper as the season goes on.
