I took LSU -1.5 and over 160 let’s make sure both teams don’t play defense

When the three ball doesn't fall we struggle.
Finishing around the rim has been a problem all year, and when we face a bigger more athletic team, it makes it hard.
We are so sloooow, sans our little guards.
Also Connor needs to transfer out. He can't cut the mustard here.
Thankfully we have a great talent at guard coming in next year. And a big guy that can move his feet.

Which is way too often for a system designed to shoot 3's. 8/31 25%, not good.
Now we get to go to Bama and face the top team in the conference staring an 0-2 week right in the face likely both blowouts.

Luckily Bama should be down a couple starters. Any chance Smith is ready to play?

Same system Mike had.
Dear God, send us a big man that can play down low and dominate.

This team looks a lot like one of Mike's middle of the road teams.
Not Mussellman's best coaching effort thus far. Still can't seem to get the rotation down and know when to go big guys vs small guys.
Missed it against Mizzou and seemed to miss it last night.
Then again, hard to say with Smith out but this looks like another 8-8 disappointing season on the bubble.
Hope they can get over the hump with Smith back and I still trust Mussellman. I think the transfer model is probably severely impacted by the current Covid environment and lack of practice time.

I think they'll have a much better performance against Alabama.
Not for any other reason other than Bama isn't as physically imposing as LSU.
Bigger, Faster, Stronger was on full display last night. Our guys who have better skills than every LSU player other than Thomas looked completely intimidated.
Shirked from contact, repeatedly hesitated... the erosion of confidence was visible and LSU fed off it.
Williams was the only player with the physicality to compete with LSU's aggressive style, and I'll repeat that not giving Williams more minutes during OOC play to acclimate to college ball was a big mistake. IMO.
A comfortable Williams and a healthy Smith make last night a different game. Not even in terms of output, but in showing LSU there's a physical presence to complement the skill on the perimeter.

Things to keep in mind
We have played 5 conference games
Three of those games were against teams in the top 26 of the NET and that is about to be 4.
If this team doesn't get any better they will be looking at the bubble but none of the loses so far are going to negatively impact us unless something unexpected happens. Same applies if we lose to Bama on Saturday.
The true story of the season will be what we do with the following 6 games imo.
4 are at home and we were probably be favored in all of them except for Ok St.

Sure, but at some point you're going to have to win some of the games against the the tourney teams on your schedule if you want to be in the tourney.
In a normal year.
This year it could possibly not matter as much with leagues having an option to manipulate conference tourneys to ensure no upsets towards securing their leagues bid, so more bids available for P5 schools, potentially.
The SEC could take the top 4 teams j. The league who are likely to be tourney teams anyway and excuse them from Nashville, this could potentially allow the SEC to "steal a bid" or have a bubble team left out if a surprise team wins it all. (Think UGA in Pels first year where we were punished by the committee for allowing it to happen ).

Sure but even more so than that we need quad 1 wins, which doesn't have to be tournament team wins. There is a good chance that Auburn will become a Quad 1 win if they win this weekend. From a quick glance at the schedule, looks like we have 5-7 more quad 1 chances.

There has been alot of hinting and rumors from some SEC coaches about there not being a SEC tournament. Which probably makes sense if we want a smoother NCAA tournament, unless they are willing to put some big breaks between the conference and NCAA tournament.

The Hogs practiced in weighted vests yesterday, Muss says. It was the longest practice he's conducted since he's been at Arkansas. "They're going to remember yesterday's practice... We went old school. I coached practice the way my dad probably would've."
Seeing this stuff is very therapeutic for me. One thing you will never be able to criticize about Musselman is how bad he wants to win.

Any news on when Smith returns?

Nothing on the twitters. How do we match up with Bama without him?

Which team? The one that played UGA or the one that played LSU?
The team that beat UGA and Auburn could smoke Alabama. The team that lost to LSU would lose to Pine Bluff.

So how's that baseball team shaping up?

So is the honeymoon with Muss over?

Just needs more time!
Starting to think Musselmen reminds me of Chad.
