Just saw a RIP tribute on IG and was looking for a story confirming. Haven't found one yet.

That's awful news. True legend of the SEC.

Wow. He was a great head coach and an interesting interview on the radio. God rest his soul and prayers to his family this afternoon.

Sorry Aubies
he was a legendary coach and a hell of a lineman at UGA. Firmly up there with Dooley in the long lore of our rivalry

So sad. He had been having kidney issues for years though. I was a young kid in the 80's so I didn't pay attention to CFB like I do now, but he was a legend. Truly old school.

Damn. That is terrible news. RIP, Coach. People outside the Auburn family will never know how much he meant to us. He delivered us from the depths of irrelevancy after Barfield. He brought the Iron Bowl to Jordan-Hare stadium, something no one thought possible at the time.

RIP coach.
Dude was a great coach and quite the character. Loved his arguments with Finebaum and the behind the scenes stories he told.
He was on WJOX earlier this year and told a story about Kenny Stabler when he was an assistant to coach Bryant.
Bryant told Dye to take Stabler to some awards ceremony (Atlanta I think). He went by in the morning and Stabler was passed out drunk. He had to drag him out of bed and clean him up.
