Damn. He was a great coach and wonderful representative for Auburn. My condolences to his family during this.

Dye told a story many years ago at a banquet honoring Coach Bryant. Story about how he made a substitution in a game without Coach Bryant knowing. Bryant turned around and said, “Who in the hell made that substitution?” Dye admitted it was him, so Coach Bryant took his folder, rammed it into Dye’s chest, brought it up to his chin and said, “You little son of a bitch. That’ll teach you to who’s in charge.”

When I think of Auburn football, Coach Dye is who I always see as their coach.

Yeah, he started coaching them shortly after I started to understand the game beyond "Touchdown Alabama" is good.
