I dont believe that at all. 2011 was not a terrible year for Auburn or Chizik. We had just lost 40 players from the undefeated National Championship game as well as one of the best players in college football history
2011 was not great but it was solid and nobody expected him to follow up what happened in 2010. Nobody with any sense anyway
2012 was a collapse. Total and not one single person expected it

I remember in 2012 LSU beat Auburn by 2 points, I believe due to a safety. One of many Miles-era wins that almost felt like losses

There should be a 30 For 30 on that 2012 Auburn team. I doubt I'll ever see such a lopsided Iron Bowl again in my lifetime, but I seem to recall they were fairly competitive at the start of the season with a couple of close losses to Clemson and LSU, before getting destroyed by everyone the last half of the season.

Thank you for bringing this up, sending me to youtube and causing me to relive one of the more exciting moments of my childhood. I was still in middle school and can remember asking my step-dad if we were gonna win this game...he laughed and said..probably no, but might be fun. Mauck and Davis were magic, the we came to screw things up sign...just...all of it. Relive the fun with me man!

Everyone remembers LSU losing to Troy in 2017, but how many of you remember in 2008 LSU trailing Troy 31-3 late in the 3rd quarter, only to rally to win 40-31?

This is a good choice. I thought we had a chance all week until hours before kickoff we had like 5 players suspended for the textbooks. No way we were winning after that announcement. But they came out and whipped arse.

2016 Beating Louisville at Louisville . They were on our 10 yard line with about a minute to go and Lamar Jackson fumbled. Stephen Johnson looked like Tom friggin Brady in the last 50 seconds or so driving us to field goal range and we drilled a 47 yarder to win. We were a 30 point dog going into the game.

For State back in 1984 we beat LSU 16-14 in Starkvegas. LSU was 7-1-1 and ranked #9 in the nation.
We were 3-6 overall and 0-4 in the SEC and LSU had just beaten Bama the previous week in BHM. It was a colossal upset. But we had beaten LSU the previous four years in a row.
It was a costly loss for LSU as it cost them a share of the SEC Championship. They tied Florida 21-21 and had they beat us, then each team would have been 5-0-1 in the conference. It was LSU’s last conference game as well as Tulane was no longer in the SEC but was still the rivalry finale.
For LSU folks that was a game that still sticks in their craw.

1972 Punt Bama Punt
Auburn blocked back to back punts with Newton blocking the kick and Langner running it in for touchdowns with less than 4 minutes left in the game down 16-3 to a 10-0 Bama team.
How we won that day is the biggest.

Iron Bowl, Georgia game, LSU, and Arky game (s) in 11 didnt have me saying give the man a lifelong contract either.
if south carolina and florida hadnt been a little beat up when we played them i'm not so sure we wouldve went bowling that year
