What permanent, everyday changes come out of this coronavirus event?

For example, there's an obvious trend for more work-from-home in feasible job sectors and online education for college students who have been affected.
Do we go back to business as usual after this, or do you think these types of changes make more permanent inroads into our everyday lives?
Is the technology already there for this and we've just been too hesitant to adopt it, or is this too much of a radical change?
Will colleges offer more legitimate online ways to earn credits, and if so, can they continue to justify the exorbitant costs of higher education?
I feel like many sectors streamlined after the financial crisis of 2007–08 and never went back to some older practices, even after the economy recovered. Similarly, I wonder what new "norms" we could see after this is over?

I believe working from home and online university/college education will only grow from here on out and grow quickly.

This will blow over from a public health standpoint and the lasting impact will be one quarter of horrible financial earnings for many companies and trillions of dollars of wealth wiped out in the market.

Maybe, but that trend was already in place. This might speed it up a bit, but even among my peer group I'd say 75% of them have the ability already to work from home. The only ones that don't are the doctors, nurses, and teachers I know.
I was talking more of wholesale changes to our society. Guaranteed paid leave, better healthcare access, cheaper healthcare, etc.

Hopefully that product you currently buy at the store that says "Made in China" is no longer.
They deserve to be crushed for this given how they tried to hide it in the early stages until they no longer could. They deserve severe punishment. If they had been open to the rest of the world, everybody could have taken steps much earlier to keep this from spreading.

I should hope that people will still go out and actually meet people face-to-face in classrooms and at work and as clients and realize that those people with differing views from ours are still decent and nice people, rather than withdraw even more into our bedrooms and online clusters of confirmation bias where we wall ourselves off from those reprehensible who dare to think differently.

Congress 100% needs to update the FMLA to include 10-15 days of paid leave. There are about to be a lot of people who go to work when they shouldn't because they literally cannot afford to miss that much time.

These are excellent observations and legitimate questions. A college engineering professor friend told me much of the higher cost of education is due to unnecessary administrative functions. On line courses should reduce the cost of higher education across the board, but I am not holding my breathe until it happens. I think student loans drove the cost up disproportionally. Working from home will show that a lot of work/tasks being performed is unnecessary. A lot of jobs are unnecessary in both business and education. Of course government at all levels is a bigger cuprite than the private sector.

I agree, but I’ll say that I learned far better from in person instruction than online.
