Honestly really tough decision this year.
This is kenpom's top 5 for all-kenpom SEC:
1 Mason Jones, Arkansas (Jr)
2 Reggie Perry, Mississippi St. (So)
3 Kerry Blackshear, Florida (Sr)
4 Keyontae Johnson, Florida (So)
5 Breein Tyree, Mississippi (Sr)
Might as well throw in Nick Richards from UK as well since they are best team.
Not sure who they go with honestly. Probably Jones, Perry or Tyree. I wouldnt be shocked if they did Richards form best team though, although I think he should get most improved player not best player.

I would take Blackshear off of that list and put Quickley and Mays on the finalist list.

Quickly and Richards may split votes.

Making the case for Mason Jones
* Leads SEC in scoring (22.0 ppg)
* SEC-best 4 Player of the Week honors
* SEC-best 9 gms w/30-pts-or-more
* Leads UA in rbs (5.4), asts (3.3), stls (1.6)
* Leads nation in FT/FTA (223-271)
Strange not to see Quickley listed or even Edwards.

He wasn't a particularly efficient player from the floor (41% from floor, 30% from 3), probably hurt him a lot there.
When you look at Jones and Edwards, Jones kind of blows him away overall.
41% -> 45% FG
30% -> 35% 3pt
19.5pts on 15.9 shots -> 22.0pts on 13.7 shots
Jones also has slightly more assists, rebounds and steals.

For being the only bright spot in that horrid 4 game stretch.
25.5 ppg, 5.5 apg, 3.25 rpg over that stretch

I think they pick Reggie Perry
1. He was a preseason 1st team pick. That hype generally carries through
2. He's the only player to average a double-double (#6 in ppg and #1 in rpg)
3. He's also in the top 10 in fg% and blocks.
4. MSU, while not a great team, performed well enough for him to not be "penalized" for playing on a bad team (see Mason Jones, even though Arkansas, overall, wasn't a horrible team)
5. He's projected as a (likely) first round pick. It shouldn't matter, but the media seems takes that into account.
I think the first team is:
Perry
Jones
Richards
Mays
K. Lewis
S. Lee

I would obviously be glad to see Mason win it but I think it should be Reggie. I think he is the best overall player while also on a team that had alot of success in SEC play.
That being said, Mason had most of the focus on him every game that Joe was out. Impressive that he still was able to put up good numbers most games.

Burrow. Because he hit a clutch free throw to beat Clemson.
