These numbers are off. He’s 7-8 vs. the East.

I’d agree with your assessment of him at Auburn as being a B. Some struggles, but winning an SEC title and playing for another is nothing to sneeze at.

It’s not like Auburn was going to Atlanta every other year before Gus.

Considering it's Auburn, that's got to be an A+.

I'm inclined to give a C. But since he is one of 3 coaches to take home an SEC championship in the last 7 years, B it is.

For reference, I would give Saban and O As. Smart gets a B. Mullen at Florida is B-/C+.

youre crazy. You compete in the same state as one of the powerhouse programs of all time, coming off a great dynasty. You play in the same division as another historically good program in LSU, yet he has found ways to keep winning. He is atleast a B+

edit the numbers OP posted were off some.

2 SEC champ appearences in 8 years to me seems like some success. cant lose to the East so much

He's an A+ at kicking Arkmart's arse. I'll give you that.

But hes at least done a B job at Auburn. Right?
For what y'all are paying him, I'd expect more, but that's just me.

He does have a better record versus Saban than Orgeron.

UCF, Tennessee, and Minnesota were inexcusable losses
No idea how AU lucked up and beat the Pac12 champ 2 years in a row.
Good record against Saban, shitty record against Kirby and Ed.

Most maddening to me is the absolute inability to adjust in game to a situation. AU looks unprepared in about 40% of games under Malzahn

Also- most fans from other teams in conference want AU to keep him- that says a ton.

Because we played them early and he hadn't run our RB into the ground by that point.
