According to 247

quote:

13. AUBURN’S BO NIX WILL THROW FOR 4,000 YARDS

Only two quarterbacks have ever thrown for even 3,000 yards for Auburn, and none over 3,300, so this would be pretty aggressive. But Bo Nix has a lot of arm talent. He has some quality receivers. The Tigers brought in coach Chad Morris to run the offense, and Morris likes to chuck it around a bit. Plus, with how much Auburn is losing on defense, the Tigers could be in some shootouts. I’d say smashing a record at a school which has played football for 100-plus years would be bold.

It's always cool to see Auburn talked about in the national media. I think they really want this Bo thing to work out (as do I.)

What do you guys think his actual total will be? Would 4,000 yards but around the same record get Gus another year?

That would probably make Chad our new HC.

“One of the best in college football. No doubt, we will be a 2 back power running team with play action shots down the field.”

Bo will only get better.
Gus on the other hand.

We have too many quality RBs for that to happen.

We lose our big men and people claim we will suck on D. I actually think we will be better all as a unit. Our edge rushing was meh.

Since his first game, I have always thought he'd go down as one of, if not the best passers in Auburn football history.

While I do think he breaks the record before he leaves - smashing the record by 700 yards is a little too bold.

He just needs the right offense, maybe chad will be a good fit for him and us.

I don’t know about 4K yards but I could see around the 3500 yard range

And we didn't hire 'the Pirate'(Mike Leach). This is the Gus Malzahn/Chad Morris show we are talking about, who doesn't sling it around like some of these Big 12 teams, either.

And don't forget...Gus is still the captain of this ship...

No way he reaches 4,000. Maybe 3,500. And if our running game does better, no way Nix sees 3,500 either.

Yet, if he does.... The running game could also go astronomical.

I remember a thread here asking if JJ would be a 1k yard rusher before 2015, this is an equally bad take

Id be satisfied with 2500, if we had another 4k in rushing yardage.

Not sure if both are possible.

ETA: originally said “either”, but seeing as how Bo had 2500+ last year it seems unlikely his numbers will be worse, barring injury.

My bold prediction is we finally sign a 5* CB in the next recruiting class. Can’t get any bolder than that.

Some of y’all are on crack if you think a Gus coaches QB at AU will average 300+ yards a game.
