Former Alabama safety Tony Mitchell announced that he is transferring to Mississippi State.

Mitchell entered the transfer portal in May following his freshman season and is currently at East Mississippi Community College.

Prior to his freshman year at Alabama, Mitchell was suspended by Nick Saban after he was arrested on marijuana charges.

The former five-star recruit from Alabaster, Ala., appeared in seven games last season, mainly on special teams.
