Posted this on LSU board earlier. Here are my thoughts. Appreciate replies
1) Clemson
2) Alabama
3) Ohio State
4a) Georgia
4b Oklahoma
4c) LSU
LSU has an outside shot if Brennan comes around. Alabama will have good defense and ground game. Clemson will be ok. Ohio State has Fields and Georgia will be good if QB situation is resolved.
This is my first post so treat me kindly

I could see Florida potentially being in the mix as well.

So you're saying the usual suspects?

I would think everyone is tired of Oklahoma at this point and would try a Pac 12 team if they can have a champion with two losses or less.

Oregon loses Herbert but they are still loaded and had a top 10 recruiting class. They could sneak in and if it’s close and can be justified the committee will be tempted to put a PAC 12 team in it.

I would put Clemson, OSU, SEC champ, and Texas. Not that I think UT is a great team, but the returning starters vs OU/Baylor replacing a lot gives them a chance to run the table.

SEC will be much different next season. More Offensive minded coaches and very few returning QBs.

1. Clemson
2. Ohio State
3. Florida - Easiest schedule of the SEC teams
4. Oregon

Alabama/LSU/Georgia/Auburn/Aggies knock each other out

Uh, that would be the list of any college football fan. It's the same teams every time.

1. Clemson - another cakewalk schedule
2. Ohio State - Oregon will be a big game
3. Oregon
4. SEC champ - Bama/LSU/Georgia - I don't see any team going undefeated next year, but who would have guessed Burreaux who have made that jump this past year.

Hopefully, TN beats OU and LSU beats Texass, leaving the Big 12 out.

4b Oklahoma

I'm not sure I see it this year. Breaking in a new QB (I know we hear that a lot, but this time it won't be a transfer), and they're just overall losing a lot.

Still going to be a good team, and the favorite to win the Big 12, but probably a 10-2 team that's on the outside looking in.

I'd honestly look out for Ok. State with all of their returning talent to make a run.

Outside of that, I don't think the Big 12 represents in the playoff this year.

My guess (in no rankings order):

Clemson
Ohio State
SEC Champion
SEC West representative / Notre Dame / maybe Oregon or Washington or some 12-1 Pac-12 surprise

I swear to God, Choklahoma needs to be required to be undefeated to get in just like Clemson is. They are a complete waste of space in the playoffs.

So the same top-6 as last preseason? Bold.

Four of those teams have varying levels of question marks at QB. I think the only (near)given is that Clemson and Ohio State will be in the playoff, as well as one of LSU, Alabama, Georgia, and maybe Florida. I don't think Oklahoma reaches a fourth straight CFP. So the fourth spot is pretty wide open in my opinion. The eventual national champ will be one of Clemson, Ohio State, or SEC-at large.

I think Florida has a 55-60% chance of beating LSU in Gainesville next season. Will be Myles Brennan's first true road start.

If LSU takes that loss, it'll be hard for them to run the table against the rest of their schedule.

Clemson and Ohio State look good to get in. I think the winner of Alabama/Florida in the SEC Championship gets in. Then probably a 1-loss Pac 12 team. It's been a while for a west coast team, and I think they'd get the nod over a 1-loss SEC team that didn't win their conference.

Where it could get very messy is if LSU loses to Florida but beats Alabama and wins the West. You could be looking at the winner of LSU/Florida getting to the playoff, with the winner of the UGA/Alabama regular season game sitting at 11-1 primed to compete for the final playoff spot.
