I think he’s a middle of the road qb. Makes some really good throws and other times you are like WTF

Very good game manager, playong within the system. Mom looks a little over the top.

I believe that he is a solid college QB but not the super star that some make him out to be.
He is as good as Matt Flynn was at LSU or Brodie Croyle was at Bama, or "insert any other solid QB that wasn't elite".
He's good enough to win a championship but he needs the pieces to be strong around him.

Shortish so low snaps take away his advantage of reading a D. Smaller hands so adverse weather or pressure have a greater effect on him than others. Not overly athletic so he is more sensitive to pressure. Average arm but plays well with in it. Hits open receivers but lacks the confidence to consistently throw in coverage. That's the negative.
Positive are he plays well within his limitations. Is a solid game manager that isnt going to make bad decisions.
Conclusion:
Would be an asset as a clipboard holder because of his ability to read defenses at the next level. Was both hampered by his time at UGA developmentally and put in the spotlight because he is great fit for a team that doesn't expect a QB to win games.

Most overrated qb in college football

So Clemson is the only relevant team?

His WR's aren't helping him this year
My guess it's more on them not running correct routes
He would be wise to stick around in Athens another year or risk being another Darnold or Trubisky in the NFL

I don't think any UGA fan wants him fired. However, his coaching deficiencies are obvious by now. We want him to stop being so stubborn and open up the offense.
I tend to think he won’t. He was at Alabama when Saban started the shift to a more open offensive philosophy. Clearly he had to know the reasons why Saban did this. Yet he didn’t take that mindset to Georgia.

He doesn't scare me one iota.
I'm not saying he's a bad QB, but he simply doesn't scare you.

I don't think it makes any difference because his ceiling is low, as is trubisky and Darnold, IMO. Average quarterbacks, at best, all 3 of them.

At times, I think he has been overrated, but this year I would put it at 75% Kirby, 25% he is just a good but not great QB.

Someone correct the stat if I'm wrong, but UGA is 0-5 in games where he has had to throw 30+ times?
He is the prototype to have at QB when you have elite RBs and quality WRs. Take away those WRs and you are seeing this year that he doesn't look capable of beating good teams, when he has to be THE guy in the offense.
Similar to most of the early Saban QBs at Bama, but with a bit more talent.

a good qb, could be very good qb, but inconsistent. The conservative offense does him no favors and not sure he's had a good qb coach.

I bet Smart changes offensive coordinators in the offseason and adopts a more friendly wide open offense like Saban did and like O did this year while maintaining elements of the power run game.
If not, he's going to get passed up quick, Fla is already on their heels and I still think Tennessee can get it together at some point. Even South Carolina is playing tough football this year.
The former Saban assistants are all learning the hard way, it's not easy just to replicate what Saban does. You have to adapt and evolve as a head coach and not be afraid of bringing in new ideas that might not be part of the Saban process. O learned his lesson at Ole Miss and it's paying dividends now with his recent hires.
