Do you think he's overrated or crippled by Kirby's conservative philosophy? He's had some games where he's looked very bad but others where he's looked like a first rounder.

He doesn't have anybody to throw to this year.

I actually agree with you for once. However, he's looked great against Bama both times but disappeared in the second half.

Don't think he is overrated...He is a good quarterback, just not elite. For what Kirby smart runs, he's the man, but for explosive offenses he would be efficient but not on a level with Tua, Joe, or Justin.

He played well in the Rose Bowl. Would do better with a better HC and OC. Still not great though.

He’d be good on a better team with a good coach. Instead he’s on a team that hasn’t been relevant since Miami Vice was popular and his coach is a walking calamity.

I will remove my trolling for a sec. Overall, I label him as a "safe" option. You know he wont lose the game for you. However, he doesn't have the skill set to dominate a game. UGA needs a powerful surrounding cast to be successful. In short, W/Ls will fall on Kirbys gameday coaching, which he has shown is not his cup of tea.

Little bit of both but blame should be more on Kirby. Fromm was actually somewhat heavily recruited and did decent during his freshman year in the NC game but Kirby has done very little (if at all) to develop him.

Right, because a team that makes it to overtime in the natty is irrelevant.

Think Kirby's conservative has made him scared to take any risk. He has arm talent. He is a smart kid. But it seems like he will only take a throw if it's completely safe almost. I wonder if it's a lot like Jeff here. Muschamp wired him so hard in "don't turn it over" that he never really showed how good he was till he left Florida.

Seems streaky too. If he is on, he can hurt you. Just don't think he is the type to take the team on his back and take over the game.

he's the perfect guy to have in when you get some yards running but if that doesn't go smoothly it's pretty rough watching him being forced into passing situations

It’s amazing how Georgia fans have turned on Kirby. I love it.

As others have said, not necessarily overrated, but a better than average, but not great, quarterback.

I look at him as a McElroy type of game manager where his job is to not lose the game.

As long as the running game is getting yards and he can throw the ball some here and there he will be fine. However, if the opposing D can shut the run game down and Jake is forced to move the ball a lot through the air, he is going to take chances and make some unwise decisions that are going to hurt you.

I don't think any UGA fan wants him fired. However, his coaching deficiencies are obvious by now. We want him to stop being so stubborn and open up the offense.

Really good QB, just bad offensive system and not many playmakers.

Will be a pro for sure

Maybe some of both but I'm not sure. Fields didn't look all that great the few times he played but he looks like hell on wheels at OSU. So it could be the outdated offense is holding Fromm back some though he seems to have some deficiencies also.
