SIAP: CBS Ratings for OM @ Bama were horrific

Last Saturday's SEC on CBS game between Alabama and Ole Miss was the second lowest rating for a 3:30 ET Saturday telecast since 2017.
The only game that scored lower either this year or last season was last year's Missouri at Tennessee game.
Will CBS finally learn that folks are tired of watching Bama curb stomp sub par competition?

That's a total of 15 telecasts BTW... this one was 14th out of those 15. So yeah, not good.

MSU at AU turned out to be a dud also but on paper that looked more appealing to the average fan. I would have picked that if I was CBS.

They didn't have much choice. Last week's conference slate was dreadful. They could have gone with Auburn-MSU, but they know there are a few upcoming AU games they're gonna pick, and they can't run the risk of exhausting their 5 game allotment. And in the end, I doubt that it would have drawn more eyeballs than Bama-OM.

Yeah, some weeks the slate of games is dreadful. Not much to choose from. That has to hurt ratings

are ratings determined by initial viewership or are the numbers drawn from the whole time slot? Both games were over by half and AU/ MSU was over less than quarter in.

Looks like Bama needs to go outside the conference to find somebody worth playing.

Everyone knew Bama was going to win and that Ole Miss sucks. That match up is more of a noon SEC network game then CBS game.

This. Auburn will probably use all 5: Texas A&M, Florida, LSU, UGA, Alabama.

Well, next week they chose A&M vs Alabama over Florida vs LSU, which is a real head scratcher.
My guess is that LSU bitched (like they always do) and told the conference "neaux meauxre afterneauxeauxn heauxme games".

I feel sorry for ESPN for the GA. & Tenn. game, unless
Pruitt breaks one off in Kirby.
