There's no merit to your statement or his.
And if I was smell blind as you suggest, why would I not smell it when I return to Nola from travelling? Wouldn't it be prominent when I return? It's not. If I was smell blind, wouldn't I not smell it when I do go to Bourbon? Which I do.

Not necessarily. You've just grown that used to it.

No, it's much more likely you have no idea what you're talking about. But keep on keepin on.

I’m 50, grew up in the middle of NOLA. I’ve been a cop or a fed here for 21 years. I get why people don’t like it, it’s crazy, dangerous, dirty, corrupt, people drink and eat too much, people party too much, we talk funny, we fight a lot etc... Then again, all of the above is why I came back from the Marine Corps. I’ve been all over and I still love it but that’s just me and my people. I do love Charleston and Savannah.

Thank you for putting your life on the line for us.
And yes I agree wholeheartedly, Nola has more than its fair share of problems. I've always been very outspoken about them. You know living here you take the good with the bad. But I took issue with specific allegations made in this thread about Nola that aren't true.
But yes, I love when tourists try to educate a New Orleanian on the city's issues. It's comical.

And cheer for Bama, which means you are prototypical Jefferson Parish trash who hangs out at one of those creepy bars on Vets

Funny that you're probably typing this from your mom's basement in some small podunk town in Texas.

Rounding out the bottom ten.
Darlington
Chester
Marion
Hartsville
Cheraw
Hartsville isn't bad. Has a small lake and two of the state's best employers, a Duke energy nuke plant and Sonoco. It is a lot better than Marion and Darlington.
Hartsville is probably the best small town in SC off the interstate and not near a big city.

Hey, my parents were born and grew up in Darlington/Hartsville.

New Orleans is the overindulge capital of the USA. Has been for over 50 years.

Meridian is bad, I live here, but no where near the worst in SEC.

Don't get Cheraw either. Gorgeous historic district and one of the prettiest town hall's in the country.

If we're talking true SEC cities, as in cities where SEC schools are geographically located, my vote for worst would be Gainesville, FL. What a shithole.. I have an aunt who used to live there and I've visited more times than I would've liked. Thank God she moved. Starkvegas, MS and Tuscaloser, AL would round out my top 3 worst.

Fayetteville and Tuscaloosa

Hands down it's Tuscaloosa. I've had to stay a week there on three different occasions for work. Not all of Alabama. Huntsville, B-Ham are cool. But Tuscaloosa is bad.

The best food in the country. No other American city comes close. New Orleans has its problems, and I don’t particularly want to live there, but it is one of the most interesting cities in the US. I visit several times a year, and always enjoy it.
