Small towns in every state can get pretty bad. South has some rough small towns and some awesome ones. Just depends where you are.

It’s awesome how some of the most visited cities in the U.S. are on the list as the “biggest shithole in the southeast”...it’s simple really...every square foot of the Southeast is gross...the exception is the North Ga. Mountains, which is paradise...and don’t bother arguing, because you’ll be wrong...

The south just has a different culture. We tend to not give a shite about how everything looks to an extent while up North they have their noses sky high and are all assholes.

Fayetteville and Tuscaloosa

Yalls bias is showing hard. These two are easily top 6 as far as actual SEC towns go.

I don’t get the Tuscaloosa hate. It’s not that damn bad. Don’t let the bad apples and outcome of the game ruin the whole trip.

Jesus Christ, you frickers need to get out of the swamp sometime. New Orleans is at best, a FAR distant third behind New York and San Francisco.

The only thing gross about Northwest Arkansas is (maybe) east Springdale. And they have a cidery, a big rodeo, and a few decent bars, and it isn't a murder-shithole. It's just mostly brown people, with great tacos and Latino/Asian/PI majority.

Fayetteville is great, but it's getting over-run with Texicans. Just heard that conversation about rising rent and "Dallas people" at the bar tonight.

It's all true. DFW refugees are moving here at an alarming rate.

Well blame the university for giving all of the UT and A&M rejects instate tuition in Arkansas or other financial waivers that attracts them.

I been to San Francisco numerous times. I have actually lived in Manhattan, Sorry, while both have some great restaurants, they do not have the distinctive local cuisine that New Orleans has. I’ll take New Orleans food over San Fran any day. And New York isn’t really distinctive, even though they do have great restaurants. But there really isn’t an identifiable NY cuisine. By the way, I also have spent a lot of time in Europe, particularly France. Excellent food there, but very different from New Orleans. Perhaps you need to learn more geography. Louisiana isn’t all swamp, and I grew up in Louisiana. I haven’t lived there for nearly 30 years.

Take a trip to Tuscaloosa some time before you make a list.

Get out from the campus and right around it. It turns to trash quickly. There are ex-bama players on the corners trying to either sell you drugs or rob you.

Top 5 worst cities I've been to are New Orleans, Memphis, Montgomery, Atlanta, and Jackson, and in that order imo. Honorable mention are Tallahassee, Miami, and Columbus.

It's not just that. DFW has gotten too big. I used to live there before I came back to NWA. People with decent resumes can make a great living here with a good COL and QOL.

Every other transplant here is from Dallas.

We're the poor man's Austin.

What a shocker, a gump showing his ignorance.

Regardless of whether you like to admit it or not, New Orleans is one of the food capitals of the world. And even if some people rank it behind NYC and San Fran, that's fine because all three have great food.

Plus, New Orleans cuisine on its worst day is light years better than anything in alabama. Chew on that for a while.

I did. I stayed a few blocks off Macfarland. Didn’t see anything that was real rough at all. Y’all are so biased it’s absurd. I hate bama as much as the next guy but that doesn’t mean Tuscaloosa sucks. Quit being childish
