Vaught-Hemmingway does not have an upper deck
It doesn’t have an upper level on one side? I could’ve sworn that it used to.

Because Ole Miss does not offer a lower-level seating designation within the visitor allotment, lower-level quantity restrictions did not apply. Those lower-level restrictions were applied for the Tennessee game.
So Ole Miss is sticking all of the visiting fans in the upper deck? I thought that the SEC mandates a certain percentage of visitors seats must be in the lower level. If they can do this, why can’t LSU? I’m curious if they’re just doing it to us this year because of Kiffin. I’ve been to games in their crappy stadium and LSU had seats in the lower level every time.

Everything except for Emma Watson was perfect. She just can't sing. It was very obvious they were cutting songs off too soon because she couldn't hold out notes she should have been able to hold out.
Literally every other actor in that movie could sing but her. Hell, Dan Stevens trained for months to learn how to sing and he was excellent, as was Luke Evans, who is a veteran musical theater performer. Don’t cast an actor who can’t sing when you’re making a musical, unless you plan to dub them. Emma Watson in Beauty and the Beast and Russell Crowe in Les Miserables are two of the most egregious examples of this.

Yep. Since the Academy mandated the DEI criteria for films to be considered for the best picture award, I knew that Sinners would win a lot of awards. I enjoyed the movie, but I didn’t feel it was anything spectacular.

I liked the Cinderella live action that they did.
Cinderella was easily Disney’s best live action adaptation. They’ve gotten steadily worse since then.
Cruella and the two Maleficent movies weren’t bad, but they were basically reimaginings of the original animated films. They took the villains and made them the heroes.
I didn’t see the Lilo & Stitch remake. Apparently live action retreads of Tangled and Hercules are up next.

Maid Marian doesn't even exist in this version. WTF??
In trying for a dark and gritty revisionist take on the legend, this movie ruins the story altogether.

Agree. It's a fricking Ponzi scheme. Force hard working Americans to pay into it for decades, then, when it comes time for them to collect, try to screw them out of the money they're owed. I don't care what they do with the system, but the fricking Federal Government sure as hell better refund me every last penny I put in since I was 16 years old.

Maybe the boosters are finally fed up with Beth and this is their way of making a point. They’re going to hamstring her to ensure she’s not renewed. Once she’s gone, maybe they’ll start donating again.

I’m so sick of hearing how “hostile” it’s going to be when Kiffin and LSU roll into Oxford in the fall. Give me a break! As if Kiffin is going to be scared.

They did a ton of "setup" for a sequel that almost certainly isn't happening, at least not a theatrical release.
It will be a shame if it doesn’t get a sequel. It definitely deserves one. Finally a director with a strong love for the source material makes a movie that’s true to that source, and it bombs. Meanwhile the Star Wars franchise continues to pump out woke garbage again and again, with no end in sight.

He-Man wasn't my thing as a kid, I was a Ninja Turtles kid, but I probably would have seen this in theatres if the trailer wasn't so bad. I love going to the theatre but I just couldn't bring myself to go with how cheesy it looked. Will definitely watch on streaming though.
I have a buddy who compared Jared Leto's Skeletor to Frisky Dingo's Killface, which is high praise for me. Ironically, another incredibly underrated show that didn't get a third season because of viewership but now has a cult following.
It really does deserve to be seen on the big screen. It's big, bright, colorful, and loud. It's a cartoon come to life, which is exactly what it should be. Travis Knight has a strong love for the source material and you can tell. He didn't try to ground the characters in reality. The characters' silly names like He-Man, Ram Man, Mekaneck, Trap Jaw, Fisto, etc. are all names that Adam created for them as a child. You never know their real names, except for Duncan (Man-at-Arms) and Teela.
As much hate as Jared Leto gets, I thought he nailed Skeletor. He had an impeccable British accent, and instilled just enough humor to keep the character true to his cartoon persona. I thought he maintained a nice balance of menace and fun, while never crossing the line to make the character campy. The scene where Skeleton infiltrates Adam's mind to torment him with images of insecurity were very funny. Rumor is that Jared Leto was not happy that he had about 15 minutes of screen time cut for the final version. It apparently showed that Skeletor is really King Randor's older brother, Prince Keldor, which would help explain why he covets the throne of Eternia so badly. As a fan of the old cartoon series, I'd have liked to see that.

Spencer Pratt fought a good fight and he went down swinging, but it's tough to win if the other side cheats and plays dirty. Once it was reported that out of 24,000 mail in ballots, Pratt didn't receive a single vote, I knew it was over.

I heard one reviewer say they forgot to give Evil Lynn a personality, and she is just ends up being Skeletor's "Yes Man"
True?
Yes and no. If you compare her role in this movie to Meg Foster's version in the 1987 film, then I suppose so. The 1987 film gave her more to do and even suggested that there was a possible romantic relationship between her and Skeletor. This movie didn't go that route at all. She assisted Skeletor and fought Teela during the final showdown, but that was about it. As others have said, he basically bullied her and she deserted him at the end, until the post-credits scene.

This movie was absolute fun.
I agree. I enjoyed the hell out of it. Very much in the vein of GOTG and Thor:Ragnarok. Loud, colorful, and very true in spirit to the source. I know that Jared Leto gets a bad rap, but I thought he did a great job with Skeletor. At times his performance was very reminiscent of Frank Langella's from the 1987 film. Overall, I think that Travis Knight did a very good job with this movie.

357 mentioned a long time ago some donors who gave a lot to softball over the years were over the Beth era so I would imagine our NIL is weak.
In the NIL era, money talks. If the program boosters want Beth gone, all they have to do is withhold their donations and wait. Sounds like maybe that’s what’s happening. Wasn’t Heavener supposed to be a dominant force in the circle and make an immediate impact? She’s shown signs of how good she can be, but she’s been very inconsistent. A good pitch coach can help, but unfortunately we’ve got Beth in that role.

Still need THAT pitcher who is almost impossible to hit & wins 95% of time
Pitchers who can completely take over a game are rare. Cat Osterman was one. Monica Abbott is another. I can’t think of too many others. Beth had Carley Hoover and Alli Walljasper for 3 years and still couldn’t get it done. Both girls were elite pitchers. Beth’s teams are always missing something. If the pitching is good, the hitting is garbage, or the fielding is shite. It’s ALWAYS something. She’s had more than enough time. I’m not in favor of canning her now, but for the love of God, don’t renew her contract when it’s up. She is the very definition of mediocrity.
