Did I miss something, or did the dogs have anything to do with the plot at all?
They never explained it. One of the several plot lines that went nowhere.

Never mind. Finished it up last night. It started so strong, but the ending was a convoluted mess. They set the tone in the first episode with this eerie ethereal quality, but they ultimately didn't revisit any of it later on. Not sure I'd sit through it again. the first 3-4 episodes were pretty amazing.
Agree. It started so strong but fizzled out down the stretch. The atmosphere they set up in the first couple of episodes with the big, dark house and the maze-like hallways, the creepy painting, and the family's weird behavior was so well done. Once you found out what was really going on, it felt like a let down, and it became unnecessarily convoluted.

Just like at baseball CWS, he just shows up and goes where he wants, but hasn't been to a LSU baseball game all year because he knows those hard core baseball season ticket holders won't let him anywhere near the seats behind home plate
I swear that sometimes it seems like LSU bankrolls this asshat because he has primo seats at athletic events, both at home and on the road. He was front and center at the NC game in 2019 and at Clemson last season. Someone needs to call him out and let him know that it’s not racist to ask him to sit in the seat he purchased and not take over someone else’s seat.

Looked for a topic here, but don’t see it listed. Well done in my opinion. The house itself is a main character. The lead actress is a smokeshow. Best thing I’ve seen on Netflix since The Haunting of Hill House
I'm halfway through. The house is very cool. It's like a maze with all of the curving hallways. They do a great job of making the viewer think one thing is going to happen, then suddenly going in a different direction. I'm planning to finish the series tonight, so I'm curious to see how it ends up.

It made the right look stupid because these have been peaceful ptotests
Well considering that the large majority of leftist protests in the past HAVE NOT been peaceful, I'd say that the right was justified in their concerns that these might get out of hand as well.

Maybe next year....

Yep. No blacks. No trans. No mixed race people. No obviously gay people. Just average, normal-looking white people.
Not so subtle messaging is practically “kill yourself whitey.”

All they have to do to not frick this up is cast a male Voldy
Wasn’t there a rumor circulating a while back that they were at least toying with the idea of making Voldemort a female character, or at least androgynous and played by a female actor?
No role is safe. Case in point is Meryl Streep as Aslan in the Narnia reboot.

Why don't any shows have people like me?
We laugh about it, but it's seriously heading in that direction. It's already hard enough to name a successful TV show or movie with a straight, white male as the lead. Every family is somehow interracial, but the villains always seem to be white. When I saw Coogler's name attached to this, I knew the chances of one of the leads being white was slim to none. At least the characters are not supposed to be Scully and Mulder. I guess that's something to be thankful for at any rate.

The guy doesn't mention it, but there's a real problem for older workers too--if they get laid off or fired, it's very difficult to get another job since they are considered overqualified and it would be cheaper to hire someone newer anyway.
This is definitely true. If you are over 50 and you lose your job, good luck finding another one. Even retail won’t hire you.

The pocket of higher end stuff on Nicholson near Magnolia Mound was not developed until the 1950s, and it was demolished around 2006 to make room for a real estate development that went belly up during the recession and never happened.
Yep. They demolished some really nice older homes on Nicholson to make way for the development that never happened. It would’ve gone a long way toward cleaning up that strip. Surely, some developer will come along at some point and will make another attempt.

I believe that the same is true for Sarah Michelle Gellar. She's aged (almost 50) and has two children. She looked great in Ready or Not.

feels different seeing SMG in a bad guy role
I enjoyed the homage to her Buffy days when she was fighting Grace with the spike that looked like a wooden stake. That said, Ursula wasn't really all that bad compared to some of the others. She tried to help Grace before Titus caught her.
As others have said, this one definitely leans into the comedic aspect more than the first, but it's still a lot of fun. Even more over the top gore than the first film with several laugh out loud moments.

What gives you hope that Beth can coach them up? How many times have we seen players who are fantastic hitters in high school come to LSU and suddenly they are garbage at the plate? I had hoped that bringing Bryce in might help, and we did hit the ball better last season, but our pitching was terrible. This season we struggle in both areas. Beth has been given the money and resources, but she still has no championships of any kind. How much longer do you give her? I hope that LSU does not renew her contract after next season and at least tries to go in a different direction. This program is stale.

Big Beth fan here for many years. Still time to recover this year (TN and A&M are good teams) but so far games are not even close. Top notch facilities and fan support requires a much better product. If we do not see big improvement this year time to move on.
Same story every year with Torina.
Her teams start strong and fall apart down the stretch. As soon as this team hit the meat of the their schedule, it was over.

It amazes me that it seems like we are the only college town that the media and talking heads seem to always be looking to F/uck LSU. You think Bama media people were trying to uncover pay schemes before NIL? You think media folks in Columbus are trying to screw over OSU. You think news paper reporters in bloomington are running expose's on Indiana. It’s like our news media is always out to screw over LSU some way some angle every year!
I’ve often wondered the same thing. Even if nothing comes of it, it’s currently all over the internet, and it’s not a good look. It implies that LSU is doing something illegal. If I were Lane Kiffin and LSU, I’d revoke the credentials of any Advocate or Tiger Rag so-called “journalists.”
