All of these topics are ridiculous.

I will guarantee that I have worked for bigger demanding assholes than Saban ever even wished he could be, for considerably less money.

And a complete a-hole!

And you would know this because you have worked under him?

How do you rationalize honoring a racist like Ben Tillman, yet boast about a team that has so many black kids playing?

He has coaches leave like this every year

Yes, he's had coaches leave. But this is more than usual, both offensive and defensive staffs are gone and some are making lateral moves. Not saying the ride is over, but definitely has a different feel to it. Anyone claiming "business as usual" is spinning.

He's old school, taskmaster, especially with his early NFL background and some of his early coaching influences.
Can't argue with the results but Dabo seems to be on same track as Saban doing it a totally different way. As young as Dabo is, he could do it for a long time and have just as many titles as Saban eventually over time.

I think most coaches in this profession love the game and know the long hours all coaches put in, but from a lifestyle perspective I can see where Saban probably grinds them too much to where they eventually leave. Saban probably is also one to berate and call out certain assistants depending on what goes wrong during a game. I can imagine those staff meetings could get pretty uncomfortable when your position group doesn't meet his expectations.

I've heard a lot of stories just from his interaction with athletic personnel outside of coaching staff while at LSU. He's relentless. When all the new lightning technology came out back when he was at LSU and staffers made him stop practice when lightning was detected when it hadn't even rained yet, he would go ballistic and now it's a pretty standard safety issue.

There was another coach at LSU that was pretty relentless too, Skip Bertman, and he was pretty successful too in his sport.

He's an a-hole but people know what to expect when working with him. It's no secret.

Average staff tenure got to be what, 12 months?

What makes it so hard these guys are looking for a job as soon as they can? Is it literally 24/7/365?

Saban's a grade A dick, but if a guy works for him they'll generally get better job offers after spending some time in his program.

This year just seems different. People taking lateral moves or moves that are worse to get out, such as Enos to Miami OC instead of Bama OC

Was Enos offered the Bama OC job? IDK?

Saban is a piece of work ... a driven, demanding, focused, take no prisoners, Type AAAAAAAAAA personality. I'm an Alabama fan and I agree with those who think the guy probably has a touch of Asperger's.

Here's my problem with people who call him out for it, who aren't just doing it because they don't like his football team rolling over everybody.

There are equally, if not more, driven, take no prisoners, Type AAAAAAAAAA personalities in politics, business, entertainment, etc., who as long as they don't do anything illegal (hello Harvey Weinstein) get passes and even praise as examples of how to get things done.

Yet Saban gets called out because it's somehow abnormal, wrong, etc., for a football coach to have those qualities?

It’s been said Dabo is easy to work for, and I don’t think he is lazy.

Type A personality and being hard to work for are not mutually exclusive.

Well, I've heard Nick is a little short with his assistants.

I met a young lady who worked in the football offices when Saban was at LSU. This was while he was still at LSU and she said he was more than just a tough boss. He was feared and no one was immune from his assholery (my word, not hers).

Lol Kelly Bryant didn’t feel the family love. Compare how Clemson and KB parted ways vs how Bama and Jalen parted ways. And people call Bama a heartless machine.

apparently.

I understand coaches wanting to move up the ladder.......... but then you look at Clemson. They haven't lost a coach in three years (four if nobody leaves this year) now and I am positive some of them have had the opportunity.

He was probably upset with the dye job he got with the haircut. Saban's dye is impeccable. Saban might have thought he got one of those Les Miles kitchen sink dye job or something.

I'm a Bama fan and I agree with you. What's the upside for him? And I've always maintained the whole "Mama called" thing is overblown. IMO the fact that Bryant had pretty much topped out as far as what he could accomplish at Texas A&M in those days had as much to do with him leaving as "Mama calling."

If the coaches were making lateral moves you might be able to say this. They are getting promoted because of their stint at Bama.
