Missouri has never beaten Ohio State. Same thing as A&M. Your conference got weaker when you added those two. UCF and Clemson is the way to go. Let A&M go back to the Big 12 and Missouri join the MAC

Georgia should be AAU. If I were them, I'd ramp up research spending, even if out of pocket, for 5 years so they qualify. Then they would become research partners with other AAU institutions and bring in more research money than the spend-up had ever cost.

Missouri wants Big 10 but isn't wanted
quote:

Never let it be said that everyone thinks the SEC is better than the Big Ten. Missouri, all dressed up in a bridal gown and just waiting for a proposal, may move on from the Big 12 to the SEC. But the Associated Press has reported that the school would prefer an invite from the Big Ten.

One problem: the feeling apparently isn't mutual. The Tigers were all dressed up and ready to join the Big Ten dance last year, with the governor even publicly advocating for the move. But the Big Ten was just not that into Mizzou. Nebraska was and remains a much more attractive partner.

It doesn't work that way with the AAU. Federal grant money carries the most weight. Syracuse was forced to withdraw from the AAU when their federal grant money dropped and they took on state grants instead.

If you can find a credible link that Missouri turned down a junior membership in the Big 10, I'll eat my hat.

Otherwise, that's just spin to cover y'all getting spurned.

Who cares? We came out in better shape than any other relocated school along with A&M. Big win.

It wouldn't shock me if Oklahoma was one of the 2 teams added eventually to SEC

That means little bro' Okie Lite is coming too. No way Okie legislature allows one without the other. That is oU's real prob.

Would the SEC take two from Okie...no way. Maybe to capture all the Cherokee TV sets?

I have never understood why all the SEC fans believe that UNC and NC ST would come to the SEC. Leave basketball rich ACC for the basketball poor SEC. Those colleges are basketball schools who could give a rat’s arse about football. Period.

Notre Dame is never going to join the Big 10. Stop sticking them in there. It's never going to happen. Ever.

As long as they have that NBC contract they're not sharing $$$ with any conference. It is hilarious the ACC allows them to milk the revenue while withholding the biggest money maker.

I am a little surprised that ND hasn't taken more flack for not playing a conference championship game. Hell yes, they play a tough schedule - even if it was down this year, they had no way of knowing when the deals were made.

Anyway, you could say Georgia was penalized for losing their championship game, yet ND gets in without playing one.

I'd honestly rather have GA get in and leave ND out.

The problem you are having here is you are operating under the assumption that anyone gives a shite what you believe.

So you admit that this "Missouri turned down junior membership in the Big 10" is nothing but a face-saving lie?

OK!

I’d guess it was all still exploratory talks and then Nebraska became an option. There were definitely talks of junior membership (as evidenced by the actual junior memberships of the teams who joined the B1G).

Nebraska was a far more attractive option for the B1G than Mizzou with their rabid football fan base and national championships. Too bad the 90s aren’t coming back.
