Big 10 passed on Mizzou because they thought Rutgers TV sets in NY and Nebraska TV sets would be better than KC TV sets. They also believed St. Louis was covered because of Illinois.
Rutgers has pretty much proven the Big 10 to be retards at this point.

The B1G wanted Missouri. They just wanted Missouri to "buy into" its established tier 2 and 3 media rights. B1G institutions infused a lot of capital into the B1G network and felt that a new member should have to invest itself in the same manner.
The SEC Network :
80% Disney (ESPN)
20% SEC
The B1G Network :
51% Fox
49% B1G
Nebraska had no options. Missouri clearly did. The payouts are similar between B1G schools and SEC schools yet return on investment is clearly superior with the SEC network.

The Big X will never invite Mizzou again because MU turned them down. Y'all need to learn to speak southern and just settle in.

Missouri would have made Urbs quit sooner.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln will soon see the full benefits of the Big Ten Conference: big green.
Starting this fall, Nebraska will be a fully vested member of the conference it joined six years ago, meaning Nebraska will see its largest pay day from a conference ever.
When Nebraska joined the Big Ten in 2011, it received $14 million. From there, it increased to $15.4 million in the second year, then $16.9 million, $18.7 million and $22 million last year, according to the Omaha World-Herald.
Finally, Nebraska will see the full benefits of leaving the Big 12 Conference, but those initial payouts were still an improvement over the Big 12’s $9 million in 2010.
Next year, the money from the conference could easily exceed $40 million.
At the same time, Nebraska will become equal to its peers. This fall, the Big Ten’s television revenue will nearly triple, according to Forbes. Last June, the conference completed the sale of its media rights to Fox and ESPN. Fox will take over with the most prominent role, paying $240 million per year to the conference in a six-year deal. ESPN will take the second half at $190 million per year, while CBS will add $10 million annually for basketball.
Financially, Nebraska is unique in many ways, and an influx in cash will improve on an already good situation.
Now thats some cucking. They put Nebraska on a graduated allowance.

On Mizzou and the Big 10 - some of this is just rumor, but I've heard enough of this multiple times to believe that it's pretty accurate.
On the Bugeaters (NU) Vs. Mizzou - Old Wisconsin coach and AD Barry Alvarez and Tom Osborne are apparently really good friends. Alvarez really pushed hard for NU over Mizzou.
Part two of this: I've heard multiple things on this point. The Big 10 either offered Mizzou first, then NU, or offered both at the same time. Alvarez was key to NU getting the invite. I know Mizzou initially thought that they had no other Big 12 competition for the Big 10. Then the NU thing came up and most were pretty surprised.
Anyway, the invite, and I'm using that term pretty loosely here because conference realignment seems to be kind of like dating in jr. high, was for a "jr membership." The Big 10 wanted a five year period where Mizzou and NU would take reduced conference payments. They would have been full members, but receive substantially reduced revenue payments.
NU jumped at that while Mizzou declined. It's my understanding that Mizzou was actually preparing to send the Big 10 a counter offer when NU accepted the bid. Once that happened, the Big 10 decided to play hardball and state that they weren't accepting any new members at that time. They seemed to always believe that Mizzou would be there for the taking.
Thankfully Mizzou kept looking and found a fantastic home in the SEC. It's worked out fantastic for us.
On Bevo and OU to the Big 10: OU to the Big 10 won't ever happen. It's been mentioned on here, but the AAU standing is extremely important to the Big 10. Nebraska lost their standing shortly after joining and the Big 10 is sill pissed about that. Due to lack of AAU standing and the general thought that OU is not up to Big 10 academic standards, they won't get the invite.
Bevo - I've heard a lot that the Big 10 wants them. Much like they do ND. I could easily see Bevo becoming a member. I can also see Bevo trying to strong arm the Big 10 into taking OU, but the Big 10 won't give a damn. I'd say the Big 10 and SEC are the only conferences that won't bow down to Bevo. As much as I'd like to them seem shrivel up and become a DIII school, I'd say the Beakers are the most likely Big 12 school to get an invite, outside of Bevo.

I don't think OU would be attractive enough, academically, to get a Big 10 invite. Texas, yes.
That probably means we're coming to the SEC where we belong.

I doubt it. While kU is an AAU university because of their federal grant money, I can't see the Big X ever inviting a school with a 97% acceptance rate.

None of that is true.
Nebraska accepted the JR offer we wouldn’t then we accepted a full offer from the SEC not long after.
Like I said, maybe in the long run we should have taken the JR offer but we ended up in the best football conference around and not in the Big 12. It worked out

It hurts to be arky. See it's settling in their thick porky heads that Mizzou gonna be arky's daddy for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. So they start this kind of BS thread, wishful thinkin'.
NEVER gonna happen. We're SEC until there is no SEC, and that could be until the end for time.
Between LSU and Mizzou, arky doesn't have a chance to climb out of the bottom.
And ever time we flush, it heads south.

Missouri has never beaten Ohio State. Same thing as A&M. Your conference got weaker when you added those two. UCF and Clemson is the way to go. Let A&M go back to the Big 12 and Missouri join the MAC

UCF has a castoff coach.
Enjoy this year.
It’s gonna be a bit of a slide from here.

I stand corrected. Missouri is a solid 1-10 versus OSU. Strong numbers my man. Real dynamic
