Or does it appear Jalen Hurts has progressed enough to where he is more than enough to do significant damage with the WR we have as well as with coach Locksley.

One thing I don’t think some fans of other teams know or remember is that Alabama actually has a hell of a QB coach named Dan Enos, which Arkansas fans are familiar with. The competition with Tua, decreased pressure and addition of Dan Enos I believe has improved him greatly and it’s shown in the games Alabama has played. I mean, any QB in reality right now is a downgrade from Tua, but a few things happen that change the complexion of games like Arkansas in the scoring category.

Jalen isn’t scoring as fast as Tua is. I think, if successful on a relatively consistent basis, TOP goes up. How much really is up to debate. However, that does impact how much BOTH scores. With both being lower just based on capability and how long the ball is in Alabama’s hands. Overall, I’d say not pedestrian, but just a little more balanced and polished than 2016 strictly offense wise.

So with our current bend don’t break defense, does that make Alabama with a Tua-less offense at best a top 10 team, or is it just uglier? Cause Jalen does have crunch time experience.

Struggle in some games? Perhaps
Pedestrian? They find ways to win every year.

Tua is elite, but don’t underestimate our receivers. We have two first round receiver according to multiple mock drafts and some even have Jeudy as the number 1 WR.

Pedestrian? No. Beatable by a really good team? Chance of it. Thats the difference.

With Tua, there is no other team in CFB this year that is on Bama's level. 15-0 Champs.

The defense is only frustrating because they aren’t capable of being like an anaconda from years past. They’re still very good but no where near as consistent.

And remember a very good 2016 Alabama defense gave up 43 at Mississippi and 30 at Arkansas.

Yes, they might have lost to A&M without Tua. Tua makes the team 30 points better.

You would have still beaten every team on your cupcake schedule by 5 TDs no matter who started at QB, including whoever the third string is. You would still be in the national title game and probably win it with Jalen. It's funny people still act like it matters who the QB is at bama.

With this defense Bama still wins but I think LSU, Auburn would be tosd ups at best and we couldn’t beat Georgia.

we've seen this type of Alabama team without Tua. The past two years. They still made the national championship game both years.

Without Tua we would have lost both games, but making back to back title games isn't pedestrian.

Tua has made a great team super great.

Not even close. The 2016 team's defense was a super elite unit in which every starter now plays in the NFL. The 2018 defense isn't on the same planet as those guys.

This team would still be very good because of our OL, RB, WR and whoever good but not great QB we had. The margin for error would be much smaller, though.

Alabama's record would be the same with Hurts if that's what you're asking

Yes, a pedestrian national championship team though.

I'm sure the RBs can pick up a lot of slack if the passing game ever is challenged with Tua. They just haven't had to yet. You have to have an excellent secondary with playmakers to challenge Bama because Tua throws a perfect long ball. Only a few teams have secondaries that stand a chance.

They'd still be blowing people out, just not making it look as easy. Tua is like a cheat code in a video game.

Bama has won all of their titles with a game manager at QB. This yr they have a Tebow-Newton-Manziel generational talent. They are probably undefeated without him, but they beat A&M 17-14 or something similar instead.

It doesn't matter who the QB is. And it never has for Alabama.

No. If Tua had committed somewhere else, another freshman QB would have been brought in or a JUCO. Basically, Alabama is not going to have only 1 scholarship QB, that's madness.

Hurts has proven twice already he is more than capable of leading this Alabama team to at least a title game appearance, so there's zero evidence that Alabama would be pedestrian, they'd just be regular Nick Saban Alabama.

What Tua has done is take the best team in the past decade and taken them to another level, which is insane that more you think about it.

I agree the 2016 defense carried that 2016 team, the number of special teams and defensive TD's is just insane.

But in fairness the 2018 Bama team is doing good on non-offensive TD's again, after sort of falling off big time in 2017.

But overall the 2018 defense does seem to be a noticeable step down from Bama's normal D's, but it could be interrelated to the offense now being prolific in some ways too.

I think our offensive scoring average would drop by 20 points. Not a knock on Jalen, that’s just what we did when he was the starter. Bama would still be damn good, but not dominant.

Bama will lose a regular season game or in the SEC Championship Game. Everybody is taking for granted how difficult it is to go undefeated in NCAA football. Saban has done it once in 2009. This 2018 Bama team is beatable and I believe LSU, State, Auburn. UGA, Florida, Ohio St, Clemson, could beat Bama. Also with everyone repeatedly spouting that “Bama is unbeatable” that assures that Bama will lose a game because people are full of shite for the most part.
