The competition with Tua, decreased pressure and addition of Dan Enos I believe has improved him greatly and it’s shown in the games Alabama has played.

I said these very thing could happen on the Bama board and was down voted tremendously.

Bama will lose a regular season game or in the SEC Championship Game. Everybody is taking for granted how difficult it is to go undefeated in NCAA football. Saban has done it once in 2009. This 2018 Bama team is beatable and I believe LSU, State, Auburn. UGA, Florida, Ohio St, Clemson, could beat Bama. Also with everyone repeatedly spouting that “Bama is unbeatable” that assures that Bama will lose a game because people are full of shite for the most part.

Losing a game is definitely possible, no team is unbeatable, but I like this team's chances at going undefeated better than most.

You say this, but our defense is hot arse compared to what it used to be. I believe it’s a fair question just because at the moment, the defense is probably the worst since 2007. Even though it’s still a massive upgrade.

Seriously? I'm not sure how this is "real talk." Bama went, what, 26-2 with Hurts and y'all sure as hell didn't have less talent across the whole team at the time. People might not be automatically penciling Bama in as the odds-on favorite to win the NC, but the difference between a Tua-led team and a Hurts-led team here is more a matter of margins than outcome right now.

Bama would be just fine. Tua is really good but most of his yards come from hitting wide open receivers who then proceed to break tackles or run past everyone else on the field.

Tua is a super star in that offense right now but any other decent QB would be successful, even if not as much as him.

Tua scores very quickly, it could leave a young/green defense at a disadvantage to some extent down the road when Bama meets up with a high powered offensive opponent that can score with them.

I've always loved hard nosed defense, slow smash-mouth running game, just old school SEC football. But it sure is fun watching these young cats play ball right now.

This is not true. I had my doubts about his decision making, but after watching lots of his throws, it was obvious that he can hit receivers in stride. The reason they're "open" is because the defenders can't just park in front of them when both are racing downfield. Football 101. And, yes, he does hit some wide open receivers and they do break tackles, but that literally describes every quarterback from the third string at Rutgers to Tom Brady.

Bama has done it 3 times in the regular season with Saban. That's what we are talking about since we don't know who in the post season.

But yeah, Tua DOES make a difference - a big one. Bama would still be good with Jalen with a much better offense than the past 2 years but a definite step down on defense. They would still have a chance at a NC but the odds would be greater against than with Tua. The offensive coaching is better now, especially Enos and Gattis, the defensive coaching has taken a step back with the loss of Pruitt.

You are clueless. The WRs are great but don't be fooled into thinking that Tua's ability to read defenses pre and post snap and deliver the ball on time and in stride better than anyone else does not make a big difference. He also has hit several long bombs in stride. He has only 25 incompletions on the year vs 18 TD passes. You're right that he has a great supporting cast but he is transcendent, though certainly not infallible.

People may laugh at this but the A&M game might have gotten hairy if Jalen started. The Aggies moved the ball pretty effectively, stopped the run, and Bama’s kicking and punting is awful. An effective passing game kept A&M from having short fields and kept Bama from having to settle for missed field goals

we score less points with Jalen but we do more ball control, thus giving the opposition less time during the game. This will keep our D fresher. Jalen almost took us to the win in the natty with his limitations and he has better offensive weapons this year. Most games would be 44-21 type games

I agree. If Tua gets the offense into the opponent's territory the offense will more than likely score and it won't be a FG.

The defense is going to cost Alabama at least one game, possibly as soon as this week to Missouri with Diggs out. If they make it to the playoffs Ohio State will run them out of the stadium.

I'll take your downvotes now.

What Tua has done is take the best team in the past decade and taken them to another level, which is insane that more you think about it.

Pete Fiutak of CFN said it best. "Basically Alabama is Alabama with Drew Brees at QB."

You think you sound insightful don't you? Why not just use average instead 'pedestrian'? Did you think that using that word would make you sound more learned? We don't like you.

Without Tua, Bama doesn’t make the playoffs this year. The defense isn’t nearly as strong as it’s been in the past and Hurts, while a great athlete, is still not a great QB.
