Great job, but we lose so much I just think we have to take a step back at some point.

I beg to differ. MSU returns a lot, and it's highly unlikely that they get off to such a horrible start again next year.

-They won't play the first month and half on the road, for starters.
-The coach won't be fired 3 qames into next season (fingers crossed, knock on wood)

I wouldn't pick State to win the league, but they shouldn't have to sweep #1 just to make the SEC tournament next year either.

The only people we are losing is Konnor Pilkington, JP France, Zach Neff, and possible Hunter Stovall. Not sure what the pitching staff will be like but we do bring back a majority of our players and may not lose a single person from our batting lineup. I just cant see how we could regress that much.

Who are we losing? Which recruits are going to sign? What do you think of the JUCOs coming in? How many weekend arms will be back?

Asinine. We have a team full of freshmen with an interim head coach, and so many other issues this year. We will not take a step back, but we will improve.

State's current lineup, with returning status:

1 - CF - Mangum (.353) - Returning Senior
2 - LF - Jordan (.333) - Returning Sophomore
3 - 1B - Allen (.300) - Returning Sophomore
4 - 2B - Stovall (.319) - Potentially returning Senior
5 - RF - MacNamee (.318) - Returning Junior
6 - 3B - Foscue (.256) - Returning Sophomore
7 - SS - Alexander (.213) - Returning Senior but will likely get processed on account of influx of new talent
8 - C - Skelton (.248) - Returning Junior
9 - DH - Westburg (.250) - Returning Sophomore

All but one in our starting lineup, which has looked very dangerous this postseason, will definitely be back next year. Very potentially all will be back. We have 4 guys coming in that will be immediate impact guys as well and easily fight to take a starting spot from the back end guys. With freshman->soph year over year improvement, we could easily have 8 guys batting .300+ in that lineup. You don't need phenomenal pitchers to win with that lineup.

But let's look at pitching:

Ethan Small is our ace. He was selected in the 26th as a sophomore. He'll come back for his junior year and boost that stock way up as one of the best lefties in the league.

We also lose Pilkington and Billingsley from the weekend rotation, two 4+ ERA guys with a combined 7 wins. Nothing special, nothing unreplaceable. One spot will likely be filled by stud current bullpen man Riley Self. The other will likely come from the return of one of several big arms we lost to injury.

We also get back Spencer Price, our shutdown closer who was out this year.

We're going to be much improved next year. Big step back?? Ha.

I do believe that Tennessee will be better next year...they were 1 game away from making he SEC tourney this year.

I wish UT would tap into the talent from nearby Walters State for some JUCO help...but so far the only transfers I have seen declare from there is going to Bama.

wut? We return literally everyone except maybe Stovall and our second best starter and bring back our closer who had 14 saves a year back from injury.

You realize that State likely returns every starting position player on our roster including All SEC OF Jake Mangum, NCAA regional hero Elijah MacNamee as well as the 4 freshmen who have been starting for us Rowdy Jordan, Tanner Allen, Justin Foscue, and Jordan Westburg (the rally banana guy) The we return both Catchers (Skelton and Gilbert), Alexander at SS and possibly Hunter Stovall at 2B

Pitching wise we return Ethan Small who will be our ace, and relievers such as Riley Self, Keegan James, Denver McQueary, and 3 pitcher signees who got drafted out of HS

At least put baseball in the title so red blooded Americans don't have to open this shite and read it.
