I just wanted to get real opinions from SEC fans as to why the Razorbacks can’t get a top 10,let alone a top 20 recruiting class in football.

The facilities are top notch and they have had decent coaching staffs. Fayetteville is also and awesome place to be but I’m a middle aged white guy.

I think the main reason is distance from places top tiered recruits are from along with sub par on-field results.

Anyone else have legitimate reasons or solutions?

If that were the case, Bammy, Auburn, and Miss would be well below us in the rankings!

is it good?

I honestly have no clue.

I think that is accurate. Not winning a lot in the last 15yrs could be some of it as well.

Here were the top 10 classes last year:

UGA
OSU
Texas
USC
Penn State
Bama
Clemson
Miami
OU
Notre Dame

Why do you think Arkansas should be recruiting at the level of those teams at the moment?

Main recruiting area is north Arkansas, South Missouri, and East whateverhellstateiswestofthat.

Pretty garbage high school football in that area.

Got caught cheating

Plus Arkansas has very little talent in-state, and the neighboring talent would rather go to OU, UT, A&M, LSU...more name brand schools, closer to those recruits

why would a 5 star 18yr old want to go to Fayetville if he isn't an Arkansas fan?

They had one of those. Turned out to be a pretty decent punter for USC

The only time our classes are ranked higher than usual is when the state of SC has very good talent and we get it.

You could easily make the argument that Arkansas has the worst high school football talent when comparing to the other "SEC states". Being the only big school in the state helps but isn't enough.

State high school football talent is the easy and correct answer imo.

It is only part of the answer, because Arkansas used to be a national brand at one point. Nixon going to the game and all.

The real answer is two-fold:

1. Their local talent sucks.

2. Texas successfully blackballed them after they left the SWC for the SEC and basically made the program irrelevant for the next few generations of Texas kids who came up after that time.

Arky pushes so hard for us to play them in Dallas for a reason- they want Texas kids to care again.

Texas also honestly thought blackballing A&M after we left the Big 12 would work for a reason- the same plan basically killed Arky's program. They didn't realize us actually being in the state made it different this time.

How would you rank the SEC States?

Florida and Texas obviously at the top, but how would the rest go?

Give Chad Morris time, once recruits see what he can do offensively in particular, they will come, especially from East Texas.

Because Little Rock's football programs are very neglected. There is plenty of talent there but most of it ends up in foot races with the cops instead of opposing football teams.
