I think I got you and Sulli mixed up for a while, because I definitely thought he was a girl for a while.

That would also explain why I used to hate sulli if I was attributing all your bitchy shite to him.

ETA:
I upvoted your post though, that was good

If Morris doesn't have this team vastly improved this season, he could be shown the door also.

LOL! You are just as big of an idiot here on tRant as you are on Hog message boards.

Top 10 programs generally get top 10 classes.

Auburn usually has a top 10 class but we're more like 10-15 range historically.

Historically, Arkansas has underachieved. Same goes for Texas A&M. Both should have richer football histories.

Because Little Rock's football programs are very neglected. There is plenty of talent there but most of it ends up in foot races with the cops instead of opposing football teams.

Actually that's not a bad synopsis. I live in Central AR and as an Aggie i have more of an outsider perspective. The high school talent esp in Central AR is lacking. For the piggies to be competitive, they need AR HS to produce 10-15 SEC caliber recruits because TX HS are skewed towards a handful of positions-it has forced A&M and TX to go out of state to find OL, LBs, RBs, etc

shite, I'd say they overachieved for much of their history and what we see now is more their natural state (pun intended).

Hey Sweets- to be perfectly honest it’s been the worst 4-5 weeks (?) of my life, started about an hour and a half before the Hogs got their butts beat in the tourney. I half watched the game from the hospital waiting room if that tells you anything. Anyway, that’s way too much of that. Hope everyone else is doing fabulously.

You have no in state talent and college kids don’t want to go to Arkansas. Part of the issue is that your in the wrong conference. Kids from the southeast don’t care to go that far west .

I would guess that our average over the last ten years is somewhere around 25-30 in recruiting rankings. It is not like that is terrible just bad by SEC standards.

I remember 247 putting out something recently ranking the “most talented” rosters and we were around 20th. Wouldn’t be too bad if we weren’t in the SEC lol.

We may not get any of them, but I really like what Morris is doing bringing hundreds of kids to campus anywhere from 6th-12th grade. The hard part in the past has been getting them to visit and getting rid of the negative stigma about the state, so getting them to see the campus and facilities can only help. Very different from the small groups Bielema liked. Morris said it shouldn’t be that hard getting kids to a campus where you have a beautiful view of miles of Ozarks mountains from your practice field. Outside of tradition, OU shouldn’t recruit as well as they do either because Norman isn’t exactly a name town but they built their brand over time. I don’t expect us to get top 10 classes but Petrino got us to 16th once so being there consistently would be great. Arkansas puts out some really good players just not enough of them.

OU recruits on two things:
1. Tradition. By far the biggest thing. Everyone knows they’re winners. One of the winningst programs ever.
2. Proximity to the Metrosex. It’s an easy drive from Dallas.

Otherwise, it’s an extremely bland nothing of a town in an AWFUL state.

(Yes, I realize College Station is far from great but it’s nicer than Norman, one and half hours from Austin, two hours from Dallas, and practically a suburb of Houston, so we get easy access to (especially Houston) kids who just want to stay home DESPITE having zero winning history.)

Fayetteville is a fantastic town. The rest of the state is not great.

Arkansas develops players as good as anyone in college football, but I can see where you would long for a 5-star to sign more often.

The police force is badly understaffed right now. Something like -40 iirc.

Once that gets fixed, I'm confident we'll get it all back under control.

This times a million! This hog call nonsense was one of the reasons I told them "no thanks". I wasn't going to do that crap all the time. Not THE deciding factor of course, but it was on my mind.
Of course I then go on to work at Walmart corporate and do the dumb-arse WM cheer every day.

No, they don't. That is 100% the biggest reason they don't compete. They produce fewer D1 prospects statewide than NOLA alone does. And probably less than northeast LA does.

You're not very smart are you?

I think the person you were replying to was insinuating that we don't have talent, so our team really needs to be developed once they get on campus.

Plenty of times we have beat LSU and other teams when we shouldn't have. LSU has all the talent in the world and still can't get it done.

I could never stand him. Awful Xs and Os coach.

That's why he's still unemployed.
