Saban is starting to slip, he couldn't predict the slide Florida st would have this year.

since when is a 10 win Notre Dame team shite tier dumbass? You want to know what is shite tier, playing Mercer late in the season. Notre Dame is better than anyone you played outside Clemson and UGA.

Duke in Atlanta? Is that seriously a neutral site game Bama has scheduled? Good grief who will even be remotely excited about that crap. If you're going to go overboard on cupcakes, at least play someone worth a damn in neutral site games.
It's definitely not Ohio State or USC, but Duke has been pretty tough under Cutcliffe. The name alone means nothing without context. Vandy under Franklin was a tough team, for instance, and nobody would be embarrassed to call us a good win/loss. The Blue Devils have their good years and their bad years like everyone else not named Bama, but it's a clear step above playing, say, us. They had a 10 win season in 13 and 9 win season in 14, which would have been around the time the game was scheduled, I assume.
Frankly, I might even go to that game, assuming Cutcliffe is still at Duke. I've been a major Cutcliffe fan since his time at OM.

Bama's OOC schedule since Saban arrived has been better than anyone else in the SEC
Are you drunk?
Since 2007, here are the number of Top 25 teams (Final Rankings) played by each of the Big 6 during the regular season:
8- Florida
7- Georgia
7- Auburn
6- LSU
4- Tennessee
4- Alabama
If you assign a point value next to each team's final ranking (25 pts for playing a Final #1 team; 24 pts for playing a Final #2 team, etc.), here is how the Big 6 rank in terms of Regular season OOC teams played:
109 pts- Florida
97 pts- Georgia
80 pts- LSU
78 pts- Auburn
55 pts- Tennessee
46 pts- Alabama
Alabama has easily played the easiest regular season OOC schedule of any of the Big 6 programs since Saban arrived.

You played a shite tier ND. And it was practically a home game, just like the game Monday
So playing the #11 team in the country on the road doesn't count if your fan base travels well???
Thank you for impressing us with your logic.

Alabama has had one of the most difficult regular season non-conference schedules in the SEC over the last 10 years.
Wrong. You're at best #6... and the fact that South Carolina has played Clemson each of the past 11 years probably means you're #7.... but I didn't calculate their SOS.

The problem here is that you're going by final rankings. These games are scheduled well in advance. If someone told you that the OOC schedule over the space of a few years had PSU (X2), FSU (X2), Clemson, Michigan, WVU, and VT, you'd think that was a great lineup against really good programs. Nobody can predict that any of them will have a bad(ish) year during that exact season. The fault here lies not in the team but in the stars. While the fact that they did have poor showings isn't up for debate, the assignation of blame/motives for the schedule certainly is.

Since your argument is that Alabama is afraid to schedule good teams, all that matters in your argument is where teams are ranked going into the game. Here is a summary of the marquee early season match ups for Bama the last 10 years:
2008 - Clemson, #9
2009- Virginia Tech, #7
2010- PSU, #18
2011- PSU, #23
2012- Michigan, #8
2013- Virginia Tech, UR bowl team
2014- WVU, UR bowl team
2015- Wisconsin, #8
2016- USC, #20
2017 - FSU, #3
I'm not expecting anything substantive from you, but you're gonna tell me that's at best #6 in the SEC?

I have pointed that out repeatedly to this fool and it still doesn't sink in....further, those rankings are automatically skewed by the loss they took to Bama. Some respond well: USC finished #3 in the country but the wheels came off for FSU's season. Regardless, those rankings and that metric is skewed by the loss to Bama.

No, its not the problem at all. Are you saying preseason rankings are more accurate than Final rankings? That's absurd.

If we were having a discussion about which team *intends* to schedule difficult opponents, then you would have a point. But that is not what we were discussing.
I said that the committee has proven that Bama does not have to play a difficult OOC schedule in order to get every benefit of the doubt. The committee is looking at what a team did that year.... they don't give 2 cents about the intent of a schedule. They are looking at how good those teams are that year, and what each team's resume looks like that year.

No one is blaming anyone. The fact of the matter is Bama has played a relatively weak OOC schedule most years in which Saban has been there, and it has not affected their resume with voters or with the committee.
And Bama is not the only program that has played some bigger name opponents that turned out to be mediocre.
Since '07, despite playing Georgia Tech every single year, Georgia has played Arizona State (2x), Oklahoma State (2x), North Carolina.... every single one of them finished outside the Top 25.
Bama is not the only one its happening to.

No. Duke in Atlanta may be the final blow. But at least I’ll get the tickets for $10 a pop.
While Duke has been competitive for the last half decade they have way too small of an alumni/fan base to justify a neutral site game.

That's idiotic. So you really think counting FSU as playing a Top 3 team is accurate??? They were never close to a Top 3 team.
And Bama is not the only team that wins OOC games. Would Notre Dame not have been hurt by their loss to Georgia??

I agree but I think this was explained a little earlier. Bama is having a harder time scheduling these neutral games which makes sense. I still agree that it was a strange idea.
