That kind of attitude what is needed to take them to the next level. Surprised their strength coach didn't go up there and rip 'em down himself.

I don't think you've been to Oklahoma
Couldn't tell if this was directed at me, but I've lived here in Oklahoma for 31 years. I listen to those radio stations you reference. I don't agree with much of what is said here about Oklahoma. I think more than half the people here in Oklahoma can be tied back to Alabama in some way. You know... the Trail of Tears and whatnot.
What I will tell you is that the level of attention given to college football between Oklahoma and Alabama is light years apart. You probably can't appreciate it unless you have experienced it first hand on both fronts.

If they would have had their normal above-average quarterback
Come on man.. what are you smokin' up there in Colorado. What is this- their third Heismann winning QB in recent memory ? Quarterback has never been their problem. The answer to their problem starts with a D.

We've been busy following Thunder basketball
You see, that's the problem. Ever since a couple of days after the playoffs, there has been nothing on the Oklahoma sports radio about OU football. It's like a bunch of ostriches with their head in the sand. I tune in from time to time to try to hear something about college football and all I get is Thunder, OU, and OSU basketball. Don't you people even care about college football ? There is no comparison... the SEC " It just means more. "
re: Nick Saban just 100 wins away from tying Bear Bryant

If you look at it on a NC per win basis, Coach Saban is winning national championships at over double the rate Coach Bryant did. I think 132 wins is enough of a sample to make this comparison. It is astounding.

This is an interesting team. Turnovers seem to be the villain, that and playing up or down to the competition level. I'm buckled up and enjoying seeing us knock off some of the elite competition. No team goes from being poor to being dominant in the short run. We need to focus to get better. I guess that could be translated into Sabanese as "execute". It seems we are capable of much better play than we have seen in recent years.
In 1963 a college all-star team beat Vince Lombardi and the then-current NFL champion Green Bay Packers 20-17. Facty

The name that immediately jumps into my head is J.K. Scott. Things would have been vastly different without the guy.
re: Where does Minkah fall on the list of Bama all time great DBs?
Posted by Oracle on 1/16/18 at 7:58 pm to MontyFranklyn
No Alabama DB has ever in my memory won the awards that Minkah did. He's in some pretty elite company with Woodson and Peterson. I'll go with the people that hand out these awards and say Minkah is the best- although Kirkpatrick was pretty good. So was Tommy Wilcox.

Expanding to 8 or anything greater than 4 will make it easier for Bama to get in. Are you sure that's what people want ? :booboo:
re: What will be your reaction if TUA doesn't start first game of 2018?
Posted by Oracle on 1/16/18 at 11:44 am to BamaWins15
Jalen will probably start letting the ball fly now. What's he got to lose- his job. Maybe he's a better passer than we know and has just been afraid to turn the ball over. Tua might not look the same to us come September. I don't see him being allowed to operate with reckless abandon like he did in the NCG. But sometimes you have to let a guy go to win and the NCG was that time.

Art Briles could probably be rehabilitated. Saban could keep him in check and we could recruit Texas better.
I was thinkin' Art Briles.

That God-willing......it will start up again. In the meantime, Spring Practice and maybe some good recruiting news will have to do.

There is something about never having led in a game and teetering on the edge throughout, then coming back and stealing victory from the jaws of defeat on one magnificent play that makes this one special.

Another good Meridan player for Bama was DT Kenny Smith.
We're trying to stay on top- you're trying to get there.

One of two things happens:
Dabo forgets the way home or Phil Fulmer gets us on trumped up allegations.
Seriously, if coach Saban manages his departure the same way he manages everything else, it could be a seamless transition, but no one should expect anybody to come in here and match what CNS has done. This kind of coach doesn't come along often. It was what ? 51 years between Bryant and Saban.

We have rendered the Auburn game "irrelevant".
