I'm convinced that this was all just 4-5 boosters and/or administrators at UT angling for power, and none of those people give a flying frick what happens to UT in the fallout.

Fulmer wanted Currie fired more than he wanted a good hire. Period. Full stop.

Why on Earth would this open the pool up? Fulmer has now stabbed two guys in the back to get the job he wanted. Any decent coach would be out of his fricking mind to work for him

Yep, I want control of the spaceship so bad that I will BLOW the whole fricking ship up to get it...

If it's truly King Phillip I, all of this is completely worth it. That will mean the House of Haslam no longer controls the throne.
Leach is a painful battle to lose but winning the war is worth it.

Phat Phil back in action.

How in the hell does this logic track?
Now that a guy in the dead center of all the dysfunction will have the official title, candidates will suddenly become less skeptical of the dysfunction?

Would Fulmer be interested in Kiffin?
Fulmer values loyalty. It would take a great deal for him to even consider Kiffin. However, names we haven't heard before may well open up.

You won the battle and lost the war.
If you think Phil Fulmer is the answer, the question is fricking retarded.

Just from the outside looking in, no player in this looks like they value anything like loyalty.

Can't think of another figure in sports with such a glorious long history of being a treacherous snake

I know of 2 people who will never let Phil Fulmer get behind them again.

That is EXACTLY what happened. Again. Probably used the same knife he used on Johnny Majors.

You idiots keep blaming Phil for Johnny when you've been told countless times that the team hated Majors to the point they threatened to boycott TSIO. Johnny was a drunk back then and meaner than any snake. That's what lost him the team. Phil just happened to be a competent backup who beat Bama. But the team and campus community had grown tired of Johnny.

I hope they hire Miles now and try to explain how a team that has Fulmer and Miles in charge is so terrible

What a sad program. You have a guy who actively works to undermine an AD (and, by extension, the athletic department), and then you make him your AD.
I can't wait for Alabama to run up it's winning streak against UT to at least 15 years.
