Are you sure you aren't overstating their power?

Positive. The Haslams and Duncans have operated this area like a fiefdom. Hereditary titles and all.

Hell Bill, the Governor, is technically in charge of the entire UT system and determines the $$$ and a lot of other decisions.

If the Haslams were as powerful as you all pretend, you wouldn’t have been able to depose them so easily.

I've been listening to UT fans complain about the Haslams since Fulmer was coaching. I think this was a long time in the making.

I'm no Vol but from a distance it appears they bargained, bartered, and begged and none of that worked. So they took to figuratively bashing skulls. Seems to be no one's fault but the Haslams, for treating the university like their private playground.

I don't give a damn who gets credit for it. Bring the pirate [Leach] to the SEC.

Sure. And when their authority is gone, it’s still not 1998.

t’s not. Tennessee’s issues are not primarily because of the Haslams. The only thing that will change is who gets blamed

In 1997 Tennessee’s AD revenue was around $34M. It’s obviously gone way up.

The thing is, other boats have risen at a greater rate. Ole Miss’s AD budget in 1997 was less than $15M. Last year they topped $100M (IIRC).

The revenue provided by TV dollars has leveled the playing field. Mississippi St. can compete with Tennessee for recruits. They’re on TV as much. Their revenue isn’t as great. But it’s a degree of difference. Not a 2:1 advantage. You can’t outspend your way to success. The playing field is too level.

Why Charles Ergen doesn't tell him to STFU and sit down is beyond me.

My gawd, you're either too stupid or so uninformed on the situation that I'm not gonna waste time going into details. In the future talk about subjects you at least know a little something about. Keep on keepin on.

Or could've said "you're mentally retarded"

Again, unless you've followed this program closely and lived in the area over the past decade or more, you really wouldn't have a clue. I appreciate your total lack of insight though.

I’ve been patiently waiting on the punchline, but apparently this shitshow is real. Tennessee football has become the trailer park version of “House of Cards” .

Not that it wasn’t already, but now I have a show that I like to compare it to.
