Waiting for them to hire Brian Kelly and pretend it somehow hurts us
Vele had three years of control left for cheap. Shaheed is an UFA next year and is going to make 25m+ per year.
We don't need a WR in the 1st, we need a "game breaker". An offensive talent that can take over a game and free up the rest of our roster. Someone that demands double coverage, or that defenses specifically scheme to cover at all times.

Could be a WR, TE, or RB - doesn't matter. But Olave, Vele, and JJ would dominate if in consistent 1 on 1 coverage because we have a home run hitter that defenses have to key on.
Olave is currently:

#3 in targets
#5 in catches
#6 in TDs
#6 in yds
#23 in yds/catch

Other than the low yds/catch (which is a design of the offense), he's put up top 5 WR numbers in the league this year. People aren't going to like it, but he's playing like a top 5 WR, at a time where passing numbers are down all across the league. He's going to get top 5 WR money, whether it is here or somewhere else.

Riveting analysis. Thanks for the post on it.

About 70% of that is the fault of the bums throwing him the ball before the second half of this season

Stop moving 1st round talents out of position and pretending like it will work.
First round needs to be a BPA at a position of need.

Position(s) of need:

WR
TE
RB
OG

DE/OLB
ILB
CB

The only positions where I would say we are absolutely set with our current roster is QB, OT, and S.
He wouldn't make it past the Giants at 3. Assuming you remove the trade, Cleveland takes him at #2.
This team was a losing team the first half of the year.

In the second half, they're the best team in the NFC South.

He was banking on a 5 yard scramble and quickly resetting the ball to spike it

The amount of times Ruiz has left the game and the offense looks like Juggernauts is incredible
I know it's the flavor of the month but this dude is absolutely incredible for a rookie. The ball comes out on time like a rocket.

What a special pick. Go find this dude a home run hitter in FA.
Well we clearly didn't fix our challenge process

And that was a pretty egregious pushoff
Can you win the MVP on a block? I think Maye just did it
No, and go ahead and prepare yourself for when the Rams cash in their warchest to trade for him this offseason.
Ask me in June if they won 73 games and the title
