I think he takes an NFL DC job this year

Wouldn't surprise me if he really was the one who was reaching out

Your staff is a bunch of rats jumping ship. Even if the report is true that Aranda is staying, you’re going to have to weather the NFL in short order and your assistants are getting called like your head coach is getting fired. I really don’t know that there’s anything to celebrate on your end. At the very best, you just gave your DC a 300k raise and you still have e a terrible head coach and athletic director.

The problem with LSU's current strategy is that good coordinators are going to leave pretty quickly. It isn't easy to continuously hit on coordinators on both sides of the ball

Aranda is in fact the leading candidate. Followed by Brown, Bo Pelini, and Kevin Steele
Is it wrong that I want Pelini out of those names?

YES.
We do not want that POS in Aggieland.

I’m honestly not sure how accurate that is. That was a different person than my info above. One comes from the A&M side and the other comes from a coach.
But think about this. Pelini’s salary is something like 2.8million. I really doubt we’d pay even half that for him. He’s a proven DC but he’s not Aranda/Venables.

I don't know how credible but I was told Steele was on the short list yesterday.
I still think Brown/Mattison/Partridge.
And as I said before, Robinson is a backup. He would say yes.

Billy just said Wednesday. Or today possibly.
We will see if he's full of shite or no.

And if that doesn't happen, then he'll say another candidate reached out to us.

Steele = Hell No!
Diaz = I would be okay with it. Solid letdown from the names floated though.

I'm not high on Diaz at all.
When he was at texas he was called Iaz because he had no D.

Scoring D
'11 - 33rd (2nd in Big 12)
'12 - 72nd (6th)
'13 - 57th (6th)
Total D
'11 - 11th (1st)
'12 - 68th (5th)
'13 - 69th (6th)
1 great year and 2 avg to below avg years. He was better at MSU (both stops) and at Miami. It may have been a Mack Brown / Charlie Strong problem, not Diaz.
