If we are going to settle with _iaz or Steele, we may as well keep Chavis and try again next year.

To Chavis defense, Sumlin didn't do him any favors in recruiting. If be more comfortable with Chavis than those two clowns.

I would prefer Chavis over them as well, but I don't think it will be either of them unless we strike out on our top 5.

And recruiting. Jimbo cares most about recruiting. It's why he won't hire Chavis and it's the same reason Saban didn't consider Chavis.

Brown (bringing possibly Partridge/Mattison)
Aranda
Steele
Diaz
Pelini
Lupoi/Ansley
Robinson
Barnett
Elko

These are the names on the board based on what I know. My final list for tomorrow based on likelihood they are the guy:

Brown
Aranda
Robinson

Happy DC announcement day If it falls through and doesn’t happen tomorrow it’s because (1) it’s Lupoi, and (2) frick Liucci.

So Jimbo officially finalized the offensive staff:

Offensive coordinator/QB coach: Darrell Dickey
Tight ends coach: Tim Brewster
Wide receivers coach: Dameyune Craig
Running backs coach: Jay Graham
Offensive line coach: Jim Turner

Sorry if it has been discussed at length already, but has there been any word if Jimbo is going to keep Banks as ST coach?

No word yet. It is interesting that Brewster only has a TE title listed. It may depend on what the DC wants to do with his side of the ball.

Chris Partridge coaches special teams at Michigan. Just sayin

In telling y'all, in terms of recruiting Partridge is a 15 out of 10. He's a monster.

It's up to Banks and I think chances are he is going to move on based on what I last saw.

Poet, think Partridge can drag Don Brown with him to A&M?

Yeah I'm saying Brown is the D.C. and he's dragging Partridge with him. That's my most educated guess at least based on what I've been told and what Liucci has said.

The assistants were a big part of this I was told so if it's brown it makes sense. If it's Aranda I bet it was not initially our plan and the assistants may not be coming along.

LINK

quote:

Brown signed a 5-year deal worth $5.4 million that features an annual retention bonus for every year he remains Michigan’s defensive coordinator. Brown will receive a bonus $300,000 for the first two offseasons he stays and another $400,000 per year in the final two.

Maybe he has to stay for a set amount of time to get that 300k?

A gamecock fan forum is saying there is big rumor (not shot down yet) that T. Robinson is interviewing with Florida State today.

Cheap buyout compared to Aranda.

I'll put it this way. Robinson knows he's like our third choice and still badly wants to come.
