My heart breaks for Rockport...I used to go fishing there every Summer. Really hope it's not as bad as it looks.

Looks like that guy that attended the FEMA meeting wasn't exaggerating. This could get real ugly

Hopefully it's hard and not had. I read tweets Rockport HS got leveled.
Edit: newer report said on portion collapsed, the school wasn't quite leveled.
Creepiest shite I've read is that they're asking people to write their social on their arm so it'll be easier to ID bodies.

Looks and sounds like Rockport has essentially been wiped out. Everything from schools to hotels to nursing homes to residences torn apart and collapsed. Lots of people trapped.
Some guy posted a video from a local hotel where the entire fourth floor and side wall of the building were torn off.

Good luck and hope your damage is minimal, we're across the causeway in Lamar on the waterfront and we took the worst of the eye wall with winds of 150+. Between that and storm surge I don't expect it to be standing once it gets light in the morning. Been hauling stuff out the last couple days, sick to my stomach seeing the destruction I've seen so far. Saying a prayer for everyone affected.

We've barely gotten any wind and rain in Pearland. Thankful, but it's so weird seeing places a couple hours getting ravaged while we're sitting pretty. Unfortunately there's still s long way to go.

We've gotten rain in north Harris. My street flooded, but it already went down

My hometown of Victoria is getting hammered.

This flooding is no joke. Stay safe, bros and hoes. Don't drive anywhere if you don't have to.

August 27 5:15AM: For those of you just waking up to the news - an unprecedented and utterly catastrophic #flood is underway across the #Houston Metro.
Rainfall amounts of nearly 30 inches have fallen across parts of the Houston metro over the last 24 hours - over half of it within the last 8 hours. Houston is under water in what will become the worst flood event in Texas state history and one of the worst United States flooding disasters in modern history.
Additional rainfall totals of 20 to 30 inches are expected through Thursday - for a storm total of 45 to 60 inches in parts of Southeast Texas. This is only the beginning of this flood event and I'm afraid that we truly cannot imagine how much more severe it will become.
